To be honest, I absolutely LOVE my hue lights. I’m always entertaining in my house, and they’re a big hit with everyone (but my wife, she says I play with them too much, but who really gives a frick what she says )

My only thing is this: I haven’t really used any other ‘features’ with them. The only thing I do with them is adjust the colors and the brightness... I’ve never made them turn blue when it rains. I’ve never figured out how to make them flash when LSU or the saints score... I’ve never even really figured out how to sync them with music even though I downloaded the apps to do it

Maybe I’m missing something, maybe not... hopefully CAS can chime in because he is my go-to source for info on these things

Never heard of him, but I don't think real time score update light flashes is possible currently. Best you can do is at the start of the game. This was the response when I asked less than a year ago.

That's all I use my Hue bulbs for
She always changes it to radical weird colors...
I just put it on the flickering fireplace

I have a few hue bulbs and the old round hub. I want to rig up my new entertainment center with some color changing options (mix of led strips and small can bulbs). Are there other brand bulbs that work on the rectangle hue bridge? Or is there another platform that has better bulbs of there own and still play be able to play my current hue bulbs?

Download the OnSwitch App from your App Store. The “candlelight” or “fireplace” options are under the “popular” tab.

Yeah, same here. I switch the lights on the fly from my phone but have no idea how to get it to sync on its own. Is that still only possible by connecting it with a computer and not a tv? I feel like there are a lot more capabilities but I just mess with the colors from my phone and that’s a big enough hit and cool enough in my opinion.

I figured out the candlelight thing..

In the app, go to HUE LABS, and scroll almost all the way down, it’s there... it takes a little getting used to but it’s pretty cool
