So looking to do 4 or 8 outdoor ceiling mounted speakers on my back patio.
unless I start adding amps I will go 8 ohm to a traditional receiver. Anyone have any idea what they have done and been satisfied with?
I could go marine or just outdoor rated.

My Klipsch are about as good sounding speakers as I have ever heard, inside or out.

I put two of these on my covered pavillion. I actually took a chance and ran wire a lot longer than is suggested to the speakers and they work just fine. I did use a larger gauge wire to help with voltage drop. I have a total of 3 speakers outside and my backyard is about a half acre and I can hear it in my yard and neighbors yard without turning it all the way up. I also added some volume control knobs so I could control three zones. I didn't want to pay 2X for a receiver and it also works really well.

Ended up just getting the Micca speakers that are klipsch knock off in walls. Have great reviews and good power handling with impressive response on paper.
If I don't like them, I will replace with a better brand. Going in ceiling and I am building an enclosure for them since it's new construction. They will not be exposed to the elements directly, so we shall see.
If they suck, I will just keep the grill and build a new setup.

I have Kef for inside and outside. Great speakers.

I've had Yamahas outdoors at the camp for six years now. Not audiophile but they've lasted in a salt environment.
