yeah i'm disappointed none of the big box stores give enough of a damn about W2 to put it on sale during this time.

i mean i paid 1 cent for the 4 W1 hubs i bought (i gave them out as christmas gifts) so i'm not looking to spend much on this.

Anybody else have/had issues with Wink response times after the update? It takes nearly a minute for Wink to respond to my phone, but Alexa takes only a fraction of a second. Not sure if it something with my home wifi or if it is worth doing a factory reset of the hub.

Pull the plug? That's old school. Reset it using your iHome plug

How do you tell it turn back on when the hub is offline? Does the ihome work in the wink app with offline hub because it's using the ihome api? Hmm this could be great if so because if your hub goes down while you're out of town you can power cycle it remotely.

Gotta try this out when I get home!

I use it to turn my alarm system on and off with Alexa. She handles the rest of my smart stuff natively.

you use the iHome app. Its still usable on Android to control the plug once it's been set up.

wouldn't it still work in the wink app even if the hub is down?

Just got HD to pricematch walmart price on the iHome plugs by showing them the store price on the mobile app. Three more now.

Eta: So I decided I should set my hub on a plug only to realize its plugged into a network battery backup which doesn't accept grounded plugs

are there any smart thermostats that will look at temps in the rooms in the house and kick on the fan to regulate temp, or look at humidity and kick on the AC to bring the humidity down?

what i plan to do when my puck arrives (flair.co) is to use that in my son's room to kick on an ihome plug connected to a $30 walgreens cool mist humdifier if the humidity gets too low and turn it off once it gets back to 50%.

i'll report back on how it works.

Alarm dot com does but that's not gonna work with what you got.
