could you get a wireless set of sensors connected to an app on your smart phone without any monthly subscription fees or installation fees for $25 in 1984?

Did any of your home depot deal catchers get a deal on a smart plug or surge protector?

im debating on if i really need a relay. Is 99 the new price point?

Isn't the relay just a glorified smartphone/tiny tablet or does it add any functionality to the automation network? I was linking about getting the relay, but then figured I could use my old Galaxy S4 which is lying around somewhere.

$99 is supposedly the new price point for wink. It is just an android device, but the big draw that people have wanted and is finally coming is the intercom. It also acts as 2 smart switches. If you factor in that a switch costs ~$40, and you need a couple switches, the tablet is just a nice cheap bonus

Do you need two of these for the intercom thing?

I would assume so. Don't know much about it other than it is coming soon.

Word is that Wink will put the Relay on sale today for an even lower price. Intercom function has been partially released (I believe more functionality is still to come)
ETA: Apparently it's a 2 pack for $149.

just got this alert from slickdeals. Man, I really didn't want to spend money on this crap, but that seems like a stellar deal. I wonder if I can get a price match somewhere.
ETA: Does anyone have one of these installed and have a review? I saw some people complaining that the resolution is bad and the touch screen is sub-par. Any similar or alternative opinions?

Cad reviewed his experience a couple pages back. I've never installed mine. No place really carries them anymore besides wink.
Also, the $10 link bulbs are now penny stock, but they were pulled in all BR stores

Damn they went straight from $10 to penny? shite I didn't want to spend $10 ea on them. I may just return them.

Is HD getting out of the Wink business? Why all the price drops? And why can't I come up on one of the deals... Haha.
Hell I'll buy them from you for $10 a piece

are those go control sensors penny stock yet?
Posted on 6/21/16 at 8:07 pm to CAD703X
Should be. You have some hidden? You order any more relays?
Posted on 6/21/16 at 9:13 pm to mctiger1985
Ordered a 2pack of the relays, for 75 each worth it just to play with the intercom feature.
Posted on 6/21/16 at 9:24 pm to tigersnipen
Yeah, i ordered a two pack. Still have 3 from home depot that I may end up keeping. All of my light switches are tied together with outlets so I will need to do some rewiring shortly
Eta: Cad, saw your question on reddit. It does stink that the intercom broadcasts to everyone. Hopefully, that's something they can address.

My ecobee3 came in today, I have 3 nest cams.... if I get Google home when it releases, I guess I'll be a part of the wink community soon.

i'm still not sure what you mean by this. i have a 3 gang box: one set of wires is capped..cant figure out what they ever controlled, one set controls the fan, and the other set controls the top outlet on 2 wall outlets.
so my relay top switch turns the 2 outlets on and off and the bottom switch turns the fan on and off.
i haven't run into any problems with this but those outlets are only used for some LED lamps.
however the wife has plugged the vacuum into the bottom outlet and no worries.
i'm not sure i understand the issue with relays and outlets.
ETA i have a 2-pack of relays sitting in my cart at wink.com but can't bring myself to pull the trigger.
one would go in the bedroom (far end of the house..the house is 4200 sq feet, most of which is on one level) and the other in my son's basement bedroom. however i want to be able to target a wink relay for intercom so my son doesn't hear my wife tell me its 'sexy time' from the bedroom when i'm sitting in the living room
