exactly. i mean it will more than likely never shatter, even if dropped out of an airplane. So to each his own. Luckily my spigen case has protected from numerous drops. But if i were to drop it face first onto a sharp rock I have no doubts it would probably break.

T loved his otterbox. I would ask him why would he put that on his phone and he would say, Cause i can do this to it, and he would throw it up in the air.

I actually use the Symmetry series. These are actually very slim. Not as slim as the spiegen but not much bigger. Obviously, if you drop your phone face first on a sharp rock, not many cases will protect you from that. But my current case has been really really good.
Not saying one is better than the other. If the spiegen case is the same protection wise, I might get that.
Or a google live case if that provides decent protection.

I think google has lost touch with its customers and one of the reasons it's current users went to the nexus brand. The nexus brand was priced signifcantly lower than the iPhones and other phones making it even more popular and for some a no brainer choice when it comes to buying a phone.
The new pixel line is the exact same price as the new iPhone 7... while looking "similar" to the iPhone as well. I see nothing that attracts me to paying almost a grand for a google phone now. I certainly won't be paying that much for an iPhone either. I will be purchasing a more reasonably priced phone obviously based on how my post started.
The phone itself looks great and I would love to own one, but it doesn't look like its worth what they are asking for it. I was really hoping the price was going to be more attractive and was planning on purchasing one due to how the 5x and 6p were priced when they launched. Google really got greedy here.

People always wanted Nexus to be a premium device...why do we get this shitty camera, etc. It comes at a price.

Just because a price is inflated to match the competition doesn't make it "premium." I'd argue that the nexus 6p is very much a premium device.

Not really. More like it rode the fine line of premium-ish with a dab of affordablility that the Samsungs and iPhones of the world didn't offer. The 6p (RIP) was hands down THE best Nexus every built. The 5 brought the Nexus to greatness. 4 was a stepping stone in that direction. 6 was large and overpriced. Here is a life review of the brand that was Nexus. I wept at the end.

Does anyone know if Verizon stores have the Pixels in the store to look at and hold before preordering?
Posted on 10/8/16 at 8:38 am to Hulkklogan
They should soon if not yet. I don't have Verizon, but I also can count on one hand how many times I have been in an ATT store. They should definitely have some units in there to play with if they have them offered for sale. Guess you will just have to go check it out.

Verizon people will have to root and rom this phone if they buy through Verizon and want pure Android with direct from Google updates.
Google made a deal with the devil, the Verizon version will be controlled by Verizon, not Google. The phone will get updates from Verizon and will have bloatware. Google still hasn't managed to do what Apple did in dealing with Verizon and break their control over the phone.

Supposedly it will only be deletable playstore apps kind of like how the Moto X Pure came with. Nothing like their other devices. As far as the updates, Google will handle the monthly security updates for all versions of the devices, while Verizon will control the system updates for its devices exclusively. Sorry Verizon peeps. Googles unlocked devices from the Google Store will get system updates directly from Google (yay me).
Verizon will control Android updates for Google Pixel phones it sells
Here is a good technical breakdown of some of the hardware features of the 821 processor and such from Qualcomm:
Pixel features same DAC as the HTC 10, HD Audio, Ultra HD voice, Really fast 600mbps Modem & much more
Google Pixel Parody. Must watch for laughs.

I'd be pissed if I bought through Verizon. Buying directly through Google is the way to go.
