I was the same. I was in a family plan, none of whom were Next. But now, ATT will not allow us to get the new phone for $199.
See, this is how Next works. And I thought Next and the subsidized plan were 2 completely different things. Then, this month, when my last 2 year contract ran out, my phone bill was about $30 cheaper than any other months, and no-one could explain why. So that makes me think you are right and leaves me extremely confused.

You pay the $200 of the $800 phone bill up front. The other $600 is divided into your contract payments.

are you explaining how the subsidy works or how it would work with the Pixel. Because i would have to buy the phone outside of AT&T. Im not sure how that would change my AT&T bill
Dude, how is this so hard to understand? With Next, you will be paying the installment of the phone to AT&T which will reflect on your total bill (along with Wireless fee). If you bought the Google phone, your ATT bill will go down because you are no longer paying for the handset, but you will be paying that to Google instead. So although your ATT bill will go down, your total monthly expense is the same.
The $199 upgrade is no longer offered so forget about that entirely.

If you want an upgrade, you will be. I am not either. If you read what others are saying, before incessantly bickering, maybe you would understand that by now.

Confusion equals bickering. Awesome. Good to know. Sorry for trying to make sure i was understanding. Actually im not. frick you lol.
Whats funny is that you have 2 back to back posts. One where you parrot my confusion. And then another where you big league me for being confused. You may be schizophrenic.

This is how the subsidy works. You aren't saving that extra money, they put it on your bill. The only difference between that and NEXT is that with NEXT, you can pay off the remainder of the phone and walk away. No contracts to terminate.

I get this. And always have.

You seem to not have a grasp of the English language or 1st grade math.
I was confused because I thought you just paid $199 for the phone in the past. But I am getting a lower bill now which makes me believe I actually paid full price over time as I thought my entire bill was for Wireless service only.
What you are not understanding is that this is no longer offered and you can only get Next. Therefore, where you buy the phone from makes no difference whatsoever.

So how are you not understanding how your AT&T bill will go down?
If you are only paying them for cell service and not a physical phone AND service, your bill to AT&T will be cheaper.
Now you won't actually be saving money, as the bill for the phone hardware will be paid to Google.

In a matter of less than hour you went from being equally confused...to becoming such a master on the subject that you become a chastising dick at the thought of confusion.

Except that ive stated 100 times that im not confused about how the various plans work. My confusion comes into play because i dont think i fall into any of those plans.
but im going to tap out here. You win. Ya fricking brilliant mathematician. You make Newton look like he has brain damage.

Here are some size comparisons between the Pixel/Nexus phones.
Here is a shot of the Pixel XL next to the iPhone 7 plus:
Here is a good shot of the blue Pixel next to a black Pixel XL. Looks like that glass gets quite smudgy.
Here is a YouTube review showcasing the swipe down gesture on the fingerprint scanner. He also does a good job showcasing some actual gestures and speed of the UI.

What do you guys think of the Google Live cases? I think they are cool, but if they are not protective enough, then its not worth it.
I was looking at them yesterday. They are microfiber where the phone touches the case to prevent scratches, then rigid material to help out structurally, then the outside is softer plastic to soften impact to the phone.

I want something like the Otterbox to where I can drop my phone and not be worried about it ever breaking. Does the Spigen do that? Or is otterbox still the market leader in that?

To each his own. I can't stand otterbox cases. Most are so freaking thick.
