Nexus 6P users - FYI

Google is starting to send Pixel XL (128GB) for warranty exchanges for the 6P, not sure how long this has been going on.
I've been having a ton of issues with my 6P early shut down under 30% battery life and decided it was time for an exchange. Although my phone was out of the 1 year warranty window, they said they'll take care of me this one instance. (Google CS is fricking awesome, btw). They said they were low on 6P devices so they are sending out Pixel XL's as replacement.
As much as I loved the 6P, the early shutdown bullshite was some straight up bullshite that I'm surprised was never remedied.
anyway, I have a Pixel XL on the way here courtesy of Google customer service.

Did you do this over the phone or email/chat?

NICE. Worked for me. I have to pay for my screen replacement, but that's a lot cheaper than buying a Pixel XL

Where did you buy the 6P from? I bought mine from Best Buy unlocked, doubt google will honor it since I didn't buy from them and it is out of warranty.

just tried this through google chat as i have the Nexus 6P as well, but all they are giving me is an email with tips and suggestions on how to prevent your battery life from draining.

Just play along and go through the steps with them. Then tell them it's still not working with the early shutoff problem

yep if you tell them the problem persists even after trying their steps, they should offer a handset replacement. CS should be able to forego the one year warranty as well, at least that's my experience with them.

For me, they acted like they were going to replace mine with another 6P, but at the very last minute they were like "Oh, we're low on stock so take a Pixel XL"
I had a 32gb 6P, so they're sending me a black 32gb XL

They just sent me the 7 step process to fix my "issue". If i just skip all this shite and tell them i am still having problems, will they be able to tell?
Think they will run diagnostics on my phone when they get it and see that everything is perfectly fine?

just got my pixel in, damn did they send me a brand new one? usually for warranty exchanges they send a phone and charger in a brown box, this time it's an unopened pixel box.

Nope. Just tell them your tried everything and the problem is still there. Also, sometimes if you call back and get another agent, they won't give you any problems. At least that's how my experience was.
