Nexus 5x help.

My 5x won't read the sim card. Fi sent me another sim and it still won't read it. Do I have any options besides buying a new phone? Can it be fixed? I've only had the phone for a few months. What's the warranty on these phones?

Have you at least called them?

Google would probably just swap you for a new 5X. They are great with customer service. Especially if it is as new as you say it is.

I agree with this. Call them. Great CS.

I've talked to them repeatedly. I've been without my phone since Sunday and I'm trying to be patient. None of this makes any sense.

Same thing happened to me after i dropped it. Nothing externally broke but i just figured i rattled something loose internally.
I just bought an new phone.

I guess that's what I'm about to do. I was wanting a new phone anyway but damn. This one is only a few months old.

Mine was less than a year old too but I kinda figured it was my fault. Now I'm not so sure seeing you had the same problem.
Eta:and like you a new Sim didn't help.

After a multitude of emails between me and project Fi I've come to the conclusion that whatever happened project Fi is responsible for it. They intentionally screwed my phone up.

Sounds legit.

They've admitted to disabling my phone so I don't know what to tell you.

Just tell the whole story. What did they do? Why did they do it? Why you? Seems weird for a huge company to single you out

It doesn't matter. I'm the proud new owner of a Nexus 6p.

It does if you are lying.

Not even close to lying. I just left best buy. I paid way too much for it but I had to have something today
Posted on 8/26/16 at 2:12 pm to bencoleman
so you paid for the new phone? are you being reimbursed at all for the old one?

I don't know, I had to have a phone so I went to best buy. The guy behind the counter was a dick. I'm in lake Charles so it was the one off of Nelson. When I asked for a refurbished 6p he said they didn't carry them. I said yes you do. Anyway I ended up getting a new one. I'm probably going to try to fix the 5x and keep it for a back up.

This 6p keeps wanting to do the Android update. I've already done it but I keep getting the alert to do it again.

When my 5x broke and i got a new 5x i had to do the update like 5 times before I stopped getting the alert.
