Best 75” out there? Recommendations requested from what any of you own

You need to tell us what is important to you, budget, and what kind of room/lighting the TV will be in

Been through a few including Panasonic(wish they still made US consumer units), LG and Vizio. I like the current Sony the best. So far, the only complaint I have is, it has needed a restart a few times. XR X90J.

TCL gets great reviews for the money (all of my outdoor TVs are TCL). I loved Samsung for a long time, but I bought a 75" six years ago that just ... sucks. But one I bought 12 years ago is still my wife's favorite TV.
TCL has Roku built in. I have *never* found WebOS (in LG TVs), or any other TV operating system functional. Roku or death. You can clearly always stick Roku into any TV, but WebOS failed my neighbor 35 times during the Florida game.

Budget under 2k preferably.
Living room 16x24, TV centered on 24 wall. Big enough space for 80”, wall mount currently with a 65”
Good natural light, can restrict that as much as needed by plantation shutters, good lighting from recessed lights when turning those on.
Good picture quality is most important. Occasionally hook up PlayStation for golf. Movies, sports, etc.

LG Qned mini led. WebOS on this model is 1000x better than my old model. Bright enough for main living room. Direct Lit led so supports Vision.

If you shop for the right sale, you can sometimes find the 77" OLEDs from LG/Sony for right around 2K. Obviously top end of your budget, but you are not going to find anything else in that range that can touch their picture quality.
However to be fair it is going to be difficult to find it that price unless you are monitoring slickdeals regularly

"best" can be relative but it is probably a good idea to get something that has full Dolby Vision support. Unfortunately that rules out Samsung.

Under 2k is preferred but not required. I don’t want to go over 5k for an 8k OLED

Already saw on Prime day last week that a 77" Sony A80J was on sale for 1999 shipped. Guessing as we get near black friday you can definitely find a C1/A80J around that price. Regular prices for the C2/A80K seem to be around 2600 right now, not sure those hit closer to 2K or not

I’m so lost on tvs but in the market for the same as OP. Used to know what I was looking for years ago by so much has changed. Bought a cheaper Vizio to replace an old projector style Samsung that I loved but died, and the Vizio is a POS. Picture is not horrible but not great. OS is not great, some apps are too glitchy, but it’s at least useable. The main problem is sometimes it fails to load or even turn on. We actually had it replaced once under warranty and it did it again out of warranty.
I was thinking about getting a mid tier Samsung strictly because I have had good products from them in the past and think the cheapest tvs are just shite the uality based on my Vizio is experience.
On the flip side, tvs seem to be the only products that go down in price. I saw an insignia 70inch for less than $400 yesterday. 10-15 years ago you would have gotten a 32 inch for that price and weighed more in lbs than you can buy it for in dollars.
ETA: I’ll be buying something next month after most of the Black Friday deals are published in the $1200-1500 range.

Get a streaming device for your Vizio. They are fine TVs but not great streaming devices. Match it with a roku, appleTV, etc. and enjoy the TV.
