I get cable (extended basic) + internet (60 mbs) for $135. I've never needed more speed than that even with 3 apple TVs running and a couple laptops. That's the only internet option I have available faster than 20 mbs anyway. If I went internet only, that would be $80. So it's a wash for me.
I have netflix too so if you want to add $10 to the total, that's fair.

I get internet and Direct TV for $60 per month.y cell phone bill is $100 per month.
Not bad imo, but my internet is only 25 mbps.

quote:You said you're getting TV/internet for "about $100", so I'm assuming that's U200 and 25mbit internet? I'm checking it out right now, and it says the price "* Excludes taxes and other fees". Clicking for details tells me "Quoted prices do not include taxes, fees, surcharges, shipping, or other charges including city video cost-recovery and Universal Services Fund fees, where applicable."
Att isn't charging any extras. No dvr or equipment fees. 2 year locked in price. Myself and many others here have signed up for it.
So, you either have the $80 package and the taxes and fees take you up to $100, or you're paying more than $100 and either don't realize it or aren't telling us, or you live in a tax/fees black hole and most of us don't.
AT&T has a lot of wiggle room on those fees. And the thing that really pisses me off about it is they itemize them so they can advertise lower prices. Lots of industries have regulatory fees, but that's the cost of doing business. But AT&T and pals like to pass fees on to consumers individually so we won't blame AT&T when we're paying more than advertised. But that's bullshite, especially considering they mark up the fees and pocket more cash on them. At that point, it's no longer just a pass-along fee... it's part of the product to be profited on, and should be part of the advertised product/service price.
So, no thanks for me to AT&T or any other company that practices these deceptive marketing tactics. If anything more than sales tax is added to the advertised price, I don't want your product. I'll stick with my $65.95 internet and $24.99 SlingTV, for which I'm paying exactly $65.95 and $24.99 each month.

no I get 45mbps/uverse internet, with directv choice package, 1 hd dvr box, 2 additional receivers for a grand total of $97/month locked in for 2 years. let me know if you would like to see a copy of my bill.
I was also given a $350 gift card and free nfl Sunday ticket for 2017 to sign up.
edit- the advertised rate is $95, and the total bill is $97. maybe in Los Angeles the taxes are less, but att is not charging anyone for monthly equipment fees and dvr fees with this bundle. plenty of people here are getting the same deal.

quote:Honestly I would not even consider that deal. That's not to say it isn't a good deal at face value, because it is. In my area, they offer a similar deal for 25mbit internet for $90. I added it to my cart, and already there's a $4.53 regional sports fee. There is also an asterisk telling me this price of $94.53 is before taxes and other fees.

That's still not awful, but I still have several issues with it. First is, although they waive the rental fees on the first 4 boxes, those are wired boxes. If I want wireless, there's a $99 fee for some reason. If I need a 5th box, that's $7/month plus a $49 activation fee. Also, there is the end of the promotional pricing period looming, at which point the price jumps to $165+. I also would not put it past AT&T to try some fees shenanigans after 12 months. There is also no option to drop TV for a few months during the TV doldrums, as you will be subject to a $20/month ETF.
I've spent over 15 years giving AT&T chance after chance to provide me with good service and straightforward pricing, and they failed to deliver every single time. I don't require "great" or even "good" pricing... just straightforward pricing. If they've given you that, great, do what works for you. I'll stick with the companies that haven't tried to pull bullshite with me at every opportunity.

Post your email I'll send u my bill. I just checked and it's actually $90/month with a $7 regional sports fee.
FYI i didn't need wireless boxes because my house was prewired. Nor do I need a 5th box. But if I needed a 4th it would be free. Also free Sunday ticket and the $350 gift card to sign up. Choice package has almost all the sports channels. Price is locked for 2 years, I can renegotiate or switch then, I'm not worried either way.
Keep moving the goalposts though.

quote:I'm not moving the goalposts. I think I've made it pretty clear that I don't like AT&T as a company, and it almost wouldn't matter how good of a deal they put together... I wouldn't take it. It makes me ill to think about sending them any of my money after the way they've treated me in the past.
Keep moving the goalposts though.
If you like your service and price, by all means stick with it. I prefer the flexibility of cutting the cord, and also not supporting the same old assholes who have been fricking everyone for decades.
And the only reason you've got such a good deal with AT&T is because there are a lot of people like me who have switched to more honest companies lately. So, you're welcome.

No humble brag intended, but I have gigabit ATT Fiber that is advertised as $80 a month. I pay $80 a month.

For me, I'd rather pay for only Internet, then hook up my laptop or a Kodi device to stream sports for free. There's a little more hassle to it, but even watching a game a night, id rather save that $100 a month and put it towards something better than shitty cable

For me cord cutting is not ready for someone heavy into sports. Too many different inputs and services to worry about. Others here will disagree.
The question comes down to: how much are you willing to spend for convenience?
For me, I'd rather things be somewhat inconvenient and spend nothing. I don't mind looking up a stream for a game and clicking off an advertisement that gets past Adblock, if I'll save $100 a month for doing so
