BS with Home Depot is just now becoming more useful for Home Depot, but it's more of a manual process of looking up items you are interested in and then calling the store. Eventually this will make slickdeals and when that happens good luck beating anyone to them.

I held off posting to Reddit so you guys could eat.
When I saw this in here and didn’t see it on Nest Reddit I knew I had a chance.

$320 is what the second store had them listed at when I first called.
By the time I cleaned out the first store, got home and set up three indoor IQs and called the second store back they had been updated.
I have no idea about the rhyme or reason as to when and why they did it. But just keep looking.
For the record the cameras I got still have zero Google branding on them, so they must have been sitting for a while.
Compared to last month I bought an indoor nest camera from Best Buy and it had Google branding on the actual box.

it happened the last time mctiger posted something. the inventory disappeared between the time i confirmed it was in stock and drove 20 minutes to the store.

I'm out of the loop on these mega sale type things, but why would HD even run a sale of 75% on something like this?

no idea. could be a new SKU is coming out and they have a company policy to zero out the existing. its happened with lots of smart home stuff and inexplicably because the new product coming in is often almost identical to the old.

I'm hoping to buy 2 Nest cam IQ outdoor cameras, but my local HD stores (North Louisiana) do not carry either of the IQ models. If one of you manages to get your hands on a couple that you plan to sell for a reasonable amount more than you paid for them, I'd appreciate the chance to purchase them from you.

Harahan HD has 1 of the outdoors left. Still registering as full price at Kenner.

Thinking of driving to kenner. How hard is it to install?

So, would the original price scan if you just went to check out? Do you have to get a price check, first?
Posted on 7/21/20 at 5:43 pm to CE Tiger
I'm gonna assume it takes 3-4 minutes to setup like my indoor cameras, plus 5 mins. to install four screws, and another 5-10mins. to hide the cord how you want to.

Just add the Google Nest Home Hub on your night stand and you are set. We did this for our first and now our second.
You can leave it pulled up on there all night. Just say “okay google, show me the nursery camera” or whatever you name the room.
Bam.
Just snag a cheap audio monitor for back up if the internet goes down. Or nerd out like me and get two circuits to your house for redundancy haha.
Just swapped out a regular nest cam in our nursery today for an IQ. Wow the night vision, picture detail, audio is sooo much better. You can actually watch them breathe very clearly.

Tried three stores near me. Two had nine units, all at $320 each. One store has the markdown to $100 but none in stock.
