Need suggestions on quality bookshelf speakers and subwoofer

I bought high quality stereo components system when I was stationed overseas in the service. They are mostly top of line Pioneer from the late 70’s early 80’s. Also, a Technics Sl 1200 MK 2. Had to replace my amps mid 80’s due to a roommate doing something. Anyway, lost my JBL L150s & L100s in the flood in ‘16. Need to find nice hi quality reasonably priced bookshelf speakers and a sub woofer. Have not been impressed with the new Klipsch or JBL.
TIA
TIA

Elac makes some solid bookshelf speakers for the price. The KEF LS50 is a great bookshelf option too.

PSA MT110 for bookshelf and PSA TV2112 for the subwoofer.

Bookshelves: KEF, Martin Logan, B&W are always good choices.
Sub: SVS of your choosing or money. I’ve got two — SB4000 and an SB3000.

Check out ascend acoustics Sierra series for bookshelf speakers.

What do you consider reasonably priced?
Klipsch RP600M is what I have in my dedicated theater and those run around $600.
Definitely go with SVS for the sub, no other company comes close.
KEF Q150 are solid, but the 350 will fill a bigger room. Getting a pair of LS50 Meta’s for a Christmas present to myself, super pumped.
Also, KEF Q series speakers go on sale all the time, don’t pay full price for them.

SB4000 and an SB3000.
Good god, how do they sound? I have the PB1000 Pro and it’s amazing. Can only imagine what the SB4000 sounds like.

Still setting it up after two weeks. A lot of things to tweak. Of course it sounds great. It can rattle the room if I let it. But I really like the tight bass for music.
I originally had two SB3000s but one sort of popped and crackled at times with You Tube videos. So Best Buy took it back no questions asked and I upgraded to the SB4000. Wow.
Now my SB3000 is in the back of my den filling in when called upon.
Quality bass makes everything else sound better. The SVS pair backs up some really nice Martin Logan 40i fronts and center. In-wall Sonnance sides and rears, along with four in-ceiling Klipsch round out my 7.2.4 setup. I consider the SVS pair the heart.
By the way, i paid $1400 for the SB4000 and $1000 for the SB3000.

Audio/acoustics is in the ear of the beholder - some folks like booming bass woofers, some like mid-range horns, some like crisp tweeters - some want it all.
My dad was an audiophile and had Bozak Concert Grands for awhile driven by Macintosh electronics - gave me an appreciation for quality audio.
My recommendation: find a high-end audio shop and go listen to several combinations of speakers and electronics. I ended up in a Best Buy Mahogany Room and after several trips and demos I bought a Marantz receiver and Definitive Technology speakers (towers w/built in powered sub-woofers, center channel, and surround/rear wall-mounted). Theatre quality IMNSHO - but your taste may vary - buy what sounds good to you.

Not sure if you are aware of SVS return policy, but you have 12 months to return anything and swap it out for the newer version of it, you just put the difference. I originally had a pb1000 when I first built my theater and sent it back for a pb1000pro for $100
Also, to OP. don’t sleep on Best Buy Magnolia. Great selection, and they know their stuff.

Don't overlook these Elura subs.
Tri 10"
I have one and it will rattle my neighbors dishes if I turn it up. Its also extremely clean bass. I built a custom, deadened enclosure in my fireplace for mine.
For ~$1K
I have it paired with a Denon receiver and matching Niles speakers in the other 7 channels.
ETA: Don't cheap out on cable or installation either. Homes are terrible for EMI

The SVS warranty, trade in program and free in home evaluation are great but you will get better quality subs with more output, lower extension and all around better performance from brands like HSU, Rythmik, Monolith, PSA, JTR, Funk audio, Deep Sea Sound, etc. These are all ID brands with low overhead where as SVS is a retail brand.
The SVS PB-1000 pro is a great sub for the price but if you want anything more than that, looking at the other brands would provide a lot more benefit.

To be perfectly honest, I’m still new to this hobby and haven’t heard of most of those brands, but from everything I’ve read, you can’t get a better sub that what SVS makes for that price.

The PB-1000 pro is the closest fit to that statement and even then it is debatable.
Take SVS's flagship subwoofer the PB-16 ultra. It runs $2,500. It is a ported 16" sub that barely extends down to 15Hz and then falls off a cliff. It has a thicker sound which is commonly considered OK for home theater but music lovers wouldn't care for it.
Now for $2,500 you can get a PSA TV2112. The PSA is a 21" driver that will extend down to 10Hz in large rooms no problem. in normal sized rooms it will get you down to 5Hz. Even if you had 4 PB-16 ultras you wouldn't match the output level or extension. The PSA also uses a professional audio driver (concert level quality) that is much cleaner sound than the PB-16.
Similar story for all the other brands mentioned.
EDIT: but for anyone unsure what they want, start with SVS as you can return it completely free. Not everyone else gives you that option. Most will make you pay for return shipping.

Beauty/curse about this hobby is that you are always trying to improve your system. SVS is good for me for right now, 2 years from now I might want more.

You ask a difficult question with giving a budget.
The other thing I'll add is just because they are called bookshelf speakers doesn't mean they are meant to be on a bookshelf. Acoustically that's a terrible idea. They should be called stand mount because that is the intended use 99.9% of the time.
