Mine moved to mid 2022

The pros for me is no data cap and I could maintain internet in another Ida situation. My thought is I can take the dish down and then put it back up and not he down for weeks

Which one of you in Houma just get your Starlink delivery? I know a lot of Florida/Arizona deliveries happened last few weeks. Hopefully cells are opening up now here in Louisiana!

Theres a difference between being poor and not available.
I get that Fiber/Cable/DSL might not be available where you are, but not even HughesNet? I mean, 25Mbps is not great, but it sure beats the crap out of dial-up.

Wouldn’t the internet go out when it rains just like direc tv?

Problem with something like HughesNet isn’t just the speed it’s also the latency and caps.

There are reports that neither rain or snow interferes with the signal.

Satellites for TV are 20000 miles up, Starlink is low orbit, around 300 miles up.

Had tornado warnings a couple of weeks ago with heavy rain and only time internet went out was when my power cut out for a minute. Was able to watch weather coverage the whole time without any buffering.

Considering it uses a private satellite array, I don't see what Louisiana has to do with any of it.

What would be the point if this is you already have a high-speed connection?
No landlines, so currently it will be slower. In the future, when he expands his private array, it will be better. But that still depends on if they are going for availability or throughput. You want throughput.

Lower frequencies and shorter distances.
Sat tv radio waves are closer to water droplet size so they get scattered or blocked all together by raindrops.

They currently are not sending equipment here

Starlink maps terrain in geographic 'cells '

Hughesnet sucks with a capital S.
I had it. Latency was 600ms at least, so gaming and VOIP are a no go. Even with those limitations, the data caps killed it for me.

Waiting for mine to have a backup for my fiber, and hoping since I’m so close to LSU it will work mobile on the RV for tailgating. I’ve been pushed back twice on the timeline.

My account still says Jan 2022.
I don't believe it, but that's what it says.

Yours got pushed back to Jan from mid to late 2021? I'm interested to see how accurate their new estimates are. Keep us posted if you will.
