Anyone else get the portability email last night?

Just an extra $25/mo to do what it’s base capable of too.

Anybody else having absolute horrid service this AM? I’m having a few seconds of outage every 2-3 minutes since 4 AM. 45 mins of “unknown” outages in the last 4 hours.

Rebooted everything and it cleared up. It was awful for a while. Don’t know what was wrong with it.

Speeds are still a lot slower than they were when I first got it, but better than my previous options (although not by much anymore).

How did you mount your dish?

Just in time for me, we are going to test it in a few weeks with Catholic High's spring game. We're going to use it for the Bruin Broadcast feed with Verizon as backup.

I would bet you would have to be outside your current cell to be considered portable.

How confident should I be in my recently acquired June 2022 service date?

Pointe Coupee Parish, signed up 2021 summer. Just got email few days ago and have ordered my dish. Ordered some of the accessories for roof mount and ethernet port.

I see some negativity on speeds slowing down. Any users can confirm this?

I'm currently on dsl network paying $70 a month for 20 mbps download. It's choppy and we have down periods weekly where the speeds aren't enough for streaming. We're excited for the upgrade.

Speeds are waaayyyy down from when I first set it up. I was often getting 100+, probably averaging 75.

Now I’m lucky if I get one test over 30.

I’m honestly disappointed. From the initial service results, now to the price increase, it’s marginally better than the shite service I had. And it goes out in a heavy thunderstorm. If I could get ~30 through a wired service, I’d cancel it. Unfortunately, the most I can get is 10 through a wired service.

Damn that’s a letdown. Are you mounted on roof?

Have you tried resetting the device from the app? I occasionally have speed issues and I just reset everything from the app and my speeds return.

I’ve not had the issue of losing service in a thunderstorm. You may want to consider contacting Starlink about that. It’s possible you have faulty equipment.

I have had Starlink for less than 10 days. It’s been roof mounted for 2 days. 0.0% obstructions.

My first speed test yesterday morning was 103 Mbps and this morning’s was 143 Mbps. I see speeds all over the place while watching my son’s Xbox download. They seem to hang around the 40 Mbps level during peak times.

Is this a normal speed to expect?

Do your speeds get a little better over time after installation?

I have top tier Viasat service currently. Speed numbers seem to mean very little when comparing the 2 systems. Even with Starlink on the ground with 5%+ obstructions, a higher download speed with Viasat meant very little compared to Starlink. The upload and latency of Starlink gives me greater ‘practical’ speed in my everyday usage. No more watching the progress bar crawl across as I’m waiting for a pic to be delivered.

My speeds are down from initial setup as well. When I first set it up I could get some test speeds of 250+ at times. But now I'm typically between 60 and 100 mbps.

I have been reading about Dish Network lobbying for space in the 12Ghz spectrum and it seems as though the threat is serious enough for Starlink to send out emails with a link to a petition to submit to your representative. Starlink's position is that if Dish is allowed in the spectrum, there is a more than 75 pct chance that Starlink will be rendered useless. That means that all of us would be forced to go back to internet services you had before. The petition is prefilled but there is text boxes for you to add in any personal comments. It takes less than a minute to submit. I encourage you guys to fill out and submit this. There's no way I can go back to junk internet.

I watched a video about this just published on YouTube a few minutes ago:

I wound up getting the RV setup. I'm in a waitlisted area, but it's working, albeit the speeds are sporadic.

Setup was absurdly easy.

Just came here to say that I got the Ethernet adapter and connected the starlink to my 5 deco m5's and now I have full starlink spread all over the mesh system now and it is awesome.
