Maybe there is hope - the order in my wife's name is early to mid 2022.

Starlink publishes an availability map for service.

On the homepage in the top-left corner is a map button. Click on it and you'll get a worldwide map.

To zoom in, I had to double-click the mouse button, and to zoom out, I had to hold the Shift key and double-click the mouse button. You can drill down pretty far.

and drill down even further than the above image.

It doesn't show any dates of availability, just areas.

He’s really happy with it.

Yeah, I am too. We had two really heavy rain days in the last week and I kept an eye on the internet connectivity. At the very worst it got to 6% of the usual speed. But that's still much better than what I had with CenturyLink. And it never lost connection - unlike DirecTV often with rain. Happy to have both companies in the rear view mirror.

I did check that map out when it came out. There is a cell and a location about 23 miles away that is open. I will wait until one of my orders comes up.

But I am also holding out to see what Dish 5G comes out with in June, 2022.

Same for me. There’s a chance for snow this coming weekend, so I’m curious to see how well this melting feature of the dish works. I’ll report back my findings, but so far I have been extremely happy with the service like all of you.

Finally got mine. Cable has a large cut in the side, so it's not weatherproof any longer. I sent a support ticket to see if I could get a repair or replacement for the damaged cable and they told me I could buy another one from their store =/

Is the cut just in the outer sleeve or did it cut any of the wires?

Looks like some of the wires are nicked, but it does work. I patched it with some flex tape, but I am only comfortable having it out when there isn't a chance of rain.

That’s a total rip on your cable replacement request. Glad to hear you’re no longer waiting though.

A kid I know loves her “new Wi-Fi”. She’s about 10 miles ESE of me.

If it’s not a bother, post some speed info once you’re settled in.

There are some trees to the south that obstruct slightly, so the speeds were all over the map. Best I saw was ~150mbps. The trees that are causing the obstruction are a mixture of pines and oaks, approx. 125' away, dish was placed at ground level, so this is probably real-world scenario for many of the SE users, so I'll post my review. App reports obstructions that will interfere every 2 minutes, and it does drop signal pretty often. This can probably be improved by placing the dish elsewhere/higher, but I am not going to put much effort into that until I have an undamaged cable. That said, it only drops for a few seconds at a time and does a very good job of handling them. These interruptions will cause a bit of an issue if you like short form video (i.e. TikTok), FPS gaming, or possibly video conferencing or facetime. Web browsing can a bit annoying when you are in the middle of a long interruption (my longest has been 20 seconds, rare occurrence) but video streaming is almost completely uninterrupted. Sling, YouTube, Hulu, etc. have ran almost flawlessly. Overall, very pleased with the service, not factoring in the pathetic support.

That’s pretty shitty, but I’m not surprised. Tesla is the same way. Musk is fantastic at many things, but customer service isn’t one.

I’m starting to get frustrated with my service. Third day in a row I’m down to 14 mbps.

I’ve also had some pretty abysmal service speeds and outages. It’s a little frustrating.

Anyone else get the portability email last night?
Just in time for me, we are going to test it in a few weeks with Catholic High's spring game. We're going to use it for the Bruin Broadcast feed with Verizon as backup.
