I've just finished setting up my new Synology 920 and will start to build my Plex library over the new few months.

I was wondering if anyone here has a library that they would be willing to share as a jump start.

If you expect more than crickets to this thread you are gravely mistaken.

Glow much??

I know that I've seen the offer here before to share a library.

i think what you're asking for is a torrent invite.

Sounds like he wants CR to hook him up so he doesn't have to. I assume you can download files from shared libraries in Plex. I've never tried.

most people are on constrained upload limits (unless you're lucky enough for google fiber) so no one in hell i'm sharing my 30TB+ of media so someone can slowly download them one-at-a-time for a solid 3 months.

part of the appeal of plex is you make it YOUR OWN. i sure as hell don't want every movie that's ever come out. too much trash. if i were starting over today i would simply add favorites and fill in the gaps over time. wouldn't even be that upset.

also 100% sure my tastes are weird enough (especially music) that they would end up deleting most of it anyway.

hence, torrents.

I know, that's why I said CR.

I agree. It's what I do and I don't share my library just have some additional profiles for a few family to connect remotely.

have you turned on 2FA?

i had someone hack my plex server a couple weeks back and lost all my profiles so i turned this on and paying much more attention now to who i'm allowing access to and which devices are connecting.

Just sharing amongst family is enough to kill my bandwidth. Setting it up is very easy to do within your house. Have you started ripping your collection or wanting a torrent invite?

it boggles my mind that plex didn't send an email to my existing address before switching to some email in India to ensure i requested the change.

ridiculous. they just swapped the email over without any acknowledgement.

eta i was at the beach when this happened but luckily i had a friend back home that i sent to my house to unplug the pc and shut it down until i got back.

BC, after the news with YTTV and Disney, I’m done with live tv and getting back to the plex world.
Do you mind sharing your account with me as well?

Are you looking to just add people with extensive libraries?

If they’re ok streaming and don’t have a cap, sure. Not trying to download stuff.
Really just pissy at YTTV/Disney, etc. all these streaming live tv services have more than doubled what they started out price wise just 2 yrs ago

Most people I share with, share their content back, give and take kind of thing.

Probably wouldn't give it to a leecher

To be fair, I’d be down sharing content amongst folks here. Any sites to give suggestions or beginning tutorials? The stuff I have on my plex server now is all old stuff burned a while back from my DVD/Bluray library to my laptop HD and then moved to plex.

Is iptorrents and such the only good way to build library?
