I figured someone as smart as you that spends as much time as you do on a message board would own your own business.

You might be able to rebuild some of that functionality through Flow, depending on what your .bat file does.

if your company ever goes down this path RUN AWAY

All companies with any type of client or donor information, personally identifiable information, or just trade secrets NEED this product.

In all seriousness CAD, you could recreate the rules based on the subject line in the web version of outlook.

Im curious as to why the desktop version of Outlook isn't working for you with Duo (of course if you are using 2010, that could be the problem)

And the poster who mentioned information security is right, this helps tremendously with providing additional levels of authentication. We've been using Duo since January, and it seems to work fairly well once IT gets everything set up correctly

My one gripe is the lack of oAuth support in Mac Mail. This is supposed to be fixed with the Mojave release, but so far in the betas, I get access for 30 seconds or so and the account disappears. I can't stand using outlook, either the web or app version.

I guess I don't see how a web client can execute bat files stored on a mapped drive 24-7 as the emails come in on an unmanned PC.

If you can run executable files via browser that seems like a huge security risk.

I was under the impression your problem could be solved based on a rule specifying wording in the subject line. I think you are right in your assumption though.

If there really isn't a workaround you could use in the new version of Outlook, you could ask IT to make an exception in Duo for that specific machine/version of outlook that is allowing your current rule to operate. They have the ability to allow older unsupported mail applications to continue operating on a case by case basis. Of course, you'd probably want to offer that this is just a temporary fix until you (or they) can design something better. If it is hampering your productivity that bad, it would be work inquiring about.

Yep. Not being able to root sucks. After about 6 months they got the duo working perfectly, but now..

They are de-activating all usb drives on all computers and disallowing access tp the vpn from anything except an institutional device.

You guys think using duo is bad? Try using bitlocker security encryption on non-TPM chip computers used by people that I'm not even sure how they drive to work in the morning they are so stupid.

Every day I'm unlocking a drive because the dumbasses forgot their key AGAIN

ETA: and our dumbass security director said we were not allowed to use usb unlock

i'm all for increasing our security. believe me i've seen the results when you don't.

it just sucks it broke my main email platform and required me to unroot my personal mobile phone.

i mean sure..i could just use the web client on a laptop but i would lose webex, Teams and Outlook..all 3 of which are critical business apps..and all 3 of which i run on my personal phone.

I don't know if Flow can do that.

Flow is Microsoft's automation software four O365. Mostly designed to help take away tedium and increase your productivity.

I haven't used it a ton, but it may be interesting for you.
