Retail, these things go for $249 through Apple. I paid less than $98, shipped to my door from Mercari.

The box was sealed. Never used. And they are genuine.

One catch. Maybe. The warranty is expired. Not that it matters to me.

How does this happen? Are these refurbished? Stolen? Or because I bought them from a 3rd party website? Can't see this being the case though (3rd party).

I'm not sure which one, but I would guess it was one of these.

I have shopped in Mercari many times and being a member for several years. You can find neat stuff there and not too many people know about it.

Is everything there legit? I've been wanting to get a new pair of airpod pros as mine are the OG version and the battery is pretty bad now.

Sounds like something that is too good to be true. Maybe they're store returns that weren't opened?

I just bought some new sealed airpods pro (2nd gen) off Mercari thanks to this thread. I wanted to see.

Well according to this video LINK the ones I received are in fact fake. I am going to return them now. Mercari only gives us 3 days to return, so I need to act quickly.

I think the main difference in fake vs real is the quality of the noise cancelling feature? Any ways, the ones I received have the same serial number on each airpod which supposedly means fake. I had to get under some serious light and use a magnifying glass to read the serial numbers. Actually I just took a picture and was able to zoom in easier. Also, when I first opened the airpods my phone stated, "Not your airpods pros" when it should have stated, "airpod pros."

I've bought two items off Mercari this past week and both were suppose to be new genuine products and one is fake and the other appears to be refurbed and had a broken piece even though it was also sealed.

@the OP, are you sure they are genuine? Even the fake ones can show a limited warranty. Mine are 100% fake according to all of the signs except it showed a warranty, but the comments stated they can now show as having a warranty/expired warranty. Mine shows 5 months. When I sit the airpods next to the case it lets me toggle between noise cancellation and it's not suppose to do that.

These fake ones sound good for fake, but I still would not have paid $60-80 for them. Maybe $20-30 tops.

Has anyone sold before on Mercari?

I bought a pair of Apple AirPod Pro Max headphones (over the ear)... Great audio, can't stand the fit.

Apple doesn't buy back headphones, so I'd like to try and get $200.

Mercari is basically another form of Ebay. You need to be careful about who you buy from. Research the seller. If they have a ton of reviews that are almost all 5 star, it's usually a safe buy. Just need to read all the fine print.

I've bought the Burrow #9 LSU jersey from there and it was just someone who seemed to be making the jerseys at home. All you needed to do was request the size in a message with them. I've also bought shoes and clothes from there and they all turned out fine. Again, just need to make sure it looks as legit as it can instead of being too good to be true.

I believe mine are real. They work?!?!

They show on my phone as Apple, but aren't under warranty.

I've sold on Mercari and eBay before. Pretty similar. The big difference is Mercari only allows the buyer 3 days after it's delivered to return it whereas eBay gives the buyer 30 days. (Unless things have changed)

Because of that I almost prefer to sell on Mercari. However, eBay has more people shopping. I've listed the same item on both platforms before with the note that it is listed elsewhere, so wherever it sold first I would honor. That way I can feel comfortable cancelling one if the items sell on both.

They could still be knockoffs. If you watch the video they show how they can show up looking like the real thing even through the phone. As long as it works and sounds great I think most people are okay, but I just prefer to try to get authentic ones.

Thankfully Mercari approved my return request.

Sounds like they may be real but are registered to someone else.
