you're missing the point. that screenshot shows phone is already locked and if the user wants their data back they will have to deal with that person regardless of how sketchy.

i dont keep anything on my phone so i'd just factory reset it if something like that ever happened.

hell i factory reset it about once a month as it is.

No it doesn't. I've gotten that pop up a few times. You know what you do? Close the tab.

OS X. There is no such thing as Apple OS.

The ransomware affects OS X, not iOS. As of right now, ransomware for iOS doesn't exist.

How many people got infected?

Around 6,500. So about one third of the total windows users that get hit with ransomware per day.

there's really no point in making it either for iOS or android. vast majority of people wouldnt blink if they had to reset their phone/tablet as nearly everything important is backed up. the reason it exists for Windows is the mind numbingly large number of users who dont back up their pc or create recovery media.

Definitely have gotten a ransomware pop up on my mac pro while surfing some porn and I didn't know what the frick it was at first.

I panicked for like 10 secs until I force quit and my computer went back to working totally fine again. YOLO. Have fun PC scrubs.

Lol ok. I'm not a fanboi but I'm also not delusional.

Security on the iPhone is so good the FBI needs apple's help to crack it. But I guess it's because no one has bothered to do it

You are talking about an iPhone... Which, Newsflash: has encryption on it just like Android and Windows 10. On the computer side, Windows 10 now has startup encryption just like OS x as well.

Please keep up

No, you did not get actual ransomware if you only had to close an app to get it working again.
