While the public Beta won't be released until July, has anyone been able to fool around with it yet (developer accounts have already been given access)?

The biggest upgrade is being able to use Siri on your laptop. Pull emails, send texts, retrieve files, etc.

Other features:
Apply Pay
Memories
Apple Watch Unlock
Universal clipboard across devices

Thoughts?

Do we have any Mac developers on the board?

I have a developer account and I used to run the Developer Previews. I'm just not that gungho about running a beta OS at this point in my life. I am looking forward to the Picture in Picture. Not many user facing features this year outside of Siri, PiP, and Tabs.

I messed around with the Beta last night and it's pretty smooth. Siri works really well but that's all I have dug into so far.

I'll download as soon as the public beta comes out.

Yep and I will load it up on my machines when I get an opportunity, but the biggest changes for me probably won't be included until Beta 2

My company allows other companies to outsource development of apps and tools to various platforms. I mainly do iOS and web development, but I also worked with the guys doing the backend and the Company's interfaces who have their tools on Macs, PCs, and various distros of Linux.

I have a 2014 Macbook Pro, to which I downloaded Sierra today. Since downloading, my contacts only appear as phone numbers instead of names in the Messages app. Google has been no help in resolving this. Is this an issue which I'll have to hope is resolved by Apple with a patch in the next update, or...???

I've been running Sierra on my old arse work laptop, a 15" late 2011 MacBook pro. Runs fine most of the time but the 4gb of ram does not cut it at times with the Office suite running.

My mail, address book, and calendar crash constantly throughout the day. When my address book crashes, my messages do the same thing. I have to open then quit address book, then open it again for it to load. Quit and reopen messages and all is good.

I hope they straighten this shite out. I'm using an exchange server and iCloud for my setup.

My address book on my iMac keeps hanging up too.

I am not going to download it on my lap top.

I've got 3 macs that all work. Sierra doesn't offer me anything I need right now so I'll wait a minimum of a few months for all the bugs to work themselves out.

I am bummed that Apple seems to planning more obsolescence into their current hardware. My iMac DV I kept running for 10 years, my iMac 2007 just got shelved. I doubt I'll get 9-10 years to of my current 27" 5k iMac but we'll see.

I'll stick with Apple but OS upgrades for the sake of upgrades are getting old.
