ridiculous. so i'm still getting 118mbps down/12mbps up and i'm paying $80 less per month.

wtf comcast. this is why no one likes your shitty TV product.

here are some of the bullshite 'fees' that went away
- $10/mo DVR fee
- $10/mo "HD" fee
- $4/mo "local sports" fee WTF
- $8/mo "local stations" fee
- $15/mo in made-up taxes

again i had "special promo" to get tv/internet for $89/mo but its swelled to north of $135 every month by the time they added all that horeshit to it.

the $55 is also a '12 mo promo' but the CS rep *ASSURED* me i could call back in 12 months and they would extend it

meanwhile I cut the cord 2 years ago and my internet bill 'mysteriously' gets bumped up $5 every few months.

Is this a fee or a package? If it's package I'm assuming it's regional channels like Fox Sports. If it's a fee then Comcast probably has their own regional channel and is forcing everyone to pay for it.

Unfortunately it looks like that legacy is starting to creep over to the TV streaming services aimed at cord cutters. AT&T is going to charge for DirecTV Now's DVR function. Hulu Live gives you a Lite version of the DVR free and for a hefty $15 a month you go from 50 hours to 200 hours and the ability to fast forward through commercials. Hulu also charges you $15 a month to go from 2 streams to unlimited in home and 3 on the go.

For now PlayStation Vue seems to be the service to get to avoid extra fees for adequate streams and DVR, but with their recent price increases they also are charging more up front.

Cox also has a local sports fee. I'm not sure what its for. $10 for HD is crazy. Cox charges $3 a month for their mini box. DIVR is a huge waste of money. Any show you miss can be watched for free with the network apps.

its a fee. no way to not have this. again i'm paying for the *LOWEST* level of tv service (and HD).

last time i checked i couldn't set up an OTA antenna because i live outside nashville and there are so many hills between me and the signal that its impossible to get any TV stations.

i might buy a new attic antenna and try again.

i hardly used mine. when i pulled it off here's pretty much everything on it:

- 100,000 blaze and the monster machines episodes
- 25+ 'mexico life' recordings (the SO)
- a couple of LSU games i would like to forget
- the macy's thanksgiving parade.

thats basically it.

Next time, try SlingTV Orange. I've used it for the past 2 football seasons; I active it when the season starts, and turn it off after the championship game. Costs me $25 a month for all of the ESPNs.

As for the local channels, I had to find other sources (thanks dad, for letting me use your cable subscription login), but most games that I cared about were on the ESPNs.

watchESPN was a shithole app for me most of the season as well.

i enjoyed deleting all the shitty xfinity apps off my phone though.

The SlingTv app is pretty good; I've never had any problems using it to stream football games.

I forgot to do the Sirius 6 month promotion song and dance and noticed they hit me for $111 from $34.

Called and screamed and it was back to $34.

I'm due for them to jack my Cox bill. Last time, it was cheaper to have basic cable and internet than internet only. Not sure I even had the cable box turned on more than once or twice in the last year.

This is a perfect example of why cable is dying. The customers have to subsidize cable networks for professional Basketball/baseball teams. These networks should be premium like HBO and Showtime (but they aren't because most pro teams wouldn't survive that way).

because, you know..HD is so 'new' and 'special' and we should appreciate all the hard work comcast does to bring us this magical service in 2018.

I just don't understand why so many people insist on getting attic antennas, then complain when they can't pick up a signal?

Are you afraid of the HOA coming at you?

I can shoot guns in my back yard and my son built a homemade flamethrower with s scuba tank so no HOA worries.

I don't know anything about ota antennas. I just read that's where people set them up.

I guess I'll need to educate myself on this a bit more
