My piece of shite TCL is going out. What is a decent 65" tv for a reasonable price. I see several Samsungs at costco. I am not sure the good model (AU, RU, TU)
Also, please explain to me the right refresh rate to look for. Thank you.

Got a 65" Sony X90J about 6 or so months ago and been pretty happy with it. I think people are going to want to know your budget.

65” LG C1 OLED is going for $1,000 at Costco.

Ugh…I’m dumb. I’ve been checking out 48” C1’s for PC monitor usage and guess I had that on the brain. It’s the 48” that’s at $1,000. My bad!

Thank you for correcting that. I've been watching the price drop on the 65 inch C1 OLED for a while.....thought I might pull the trigger soon, and considered paying a little more for that G1 Evo panel.........until yesterday when David K at cnet.com gave his glowing review of the new C2 Evo panel.

and here we reset the price drop watch and wait game

Yeah I am in the same boat, also intrigued by the new QD OLED panels from Samsung, but hesitant to buy first gen.

HDTV Test C1 vs C2 Comparison

Closer than I thought TBH though

samsung TVs are fine but if you watch a lot of Dolby Vision sourced content, you would get better picture from a TV that supports dolby vision (samsung does not).

If picture quality like DV is not a big deal then pick your favorite samsung TV.

I've got an LG BX and looking to upgrade too and really excited by the new QD OLED panels.

All the reviews I've seen of the Samsung S95B are saying that it crushes the C2/G2. I think LG is in trouble if they don't have some new tech to counter Samsung.

I was surprised that Sony jumped to QD OLED for the 2022 flagship but I guess they saw how good it is. Can't wait for the reviews of the A95K come in.

I don't even know what all that is. All I know is ever since I switched to fiber for tv my golf picture pixelates and sucks. That is pretty much all I watch.

That is what I had been seeing until now... Samsung back to their old tricks

HDTV Test S95 Brightness & Colors Issues

Guess I will see what the A95K looks like, but it is a lot more expensive

That was what made me buy. Well, that and I have had back luck with LG.

I saw HDTV Test's video about it not being accurate. However, I'm of the camp I'm ok with it as long as it looks great. Nothing is 100% accurate anyway (even after calibration) unless you have one of those professional reference monitors.

Though I prefer not buying 1st gen either. The one thing that will probably hold me back is that I'm thinking of going 75" and currently QD OLED is limited to 65".

ETA: About HDTV Test's video, I just realized something. He was talking about S95B inaccuracy OOTB before any calibration. At the end of the video, he says he is working on calibrating it but may take some time but. So guess we'll see once he posts an update.

Just got an email from Costco…spend $1,501-$2,000 on select items and get a $300 Costco gift card.

The 65” C1 is an eligible item and is priced at $1,699.

I heard they were putting one next to Pinnacle area in Covington.

Will be a shitshow if it comes to fruition.
