Looking for a decent set of speakers for my living room.

Standing, component speakers. Anybody have some suggestions?
Can't be more than 34" tall.
Not looking for audiophile grade. Mid-grade.is what I want.

Usually people are looking to offload these. I sold a full flagship Polk 5.1 set from early 2000s awhile back for like $150. They were in a closet for a good 10+ years.
Point being, if you’re on a budget for this, second/third hand might be a decent option.

Get the Sony SS-CS5M2. They are under $200 a pair. Check the reviews, especially cheap audio man.

My son uses these, or something similar in his recording studio, and with the right amp/ DAC for streaming, these speakers are amazing.

Correct. But, I have my tv on a stand, on a Lazy Susan so that I can turn the tv to face me when I'm in the kitchen cooking. The tv extends over one of the speakers hence the height requirement.
