thanks, now we're sending you back to the front page of the app store, feel free to go find that free app you wanted to download and start over
For all their focus on the user experience, they really need to work on this part of it.

Every customer I've had who has flipped from iPhone to android regretted it within a month. At least 80% of them returned it within two weeks to get another iPhone. It's crazy because some of them had told me "they swore off Apple" forever lol.
In my experience, a large large majority of people are creatures of habit and don't like change. If someone used iPhone for a decade, then switched to android, there's a strong possibility they aren't going to like it because all the buttons are different, the app store is different, the shortcuts are different, everything. Different isn't a bad thing, but some people are too lazy or incapable of re-learning a new ecosystem when they had already gotten so comfortable with their original set-up.
My Grandma, who hates technology because it intimidates her, started with an android and I spent a long time teaching her how to work it. She dropped it and it broke, and the genius at the store recommended her to get an iPhone, which she now hates because she has to re-learn everything. It doesn't mean the iPhone is inferior, but it was already a big enough challenge teaching her how to use one OS, much less making her forget everything she learned and re-learn it a different way.
Also, there's hundreds of different makes and models of androids. Some are terrible, some are incredible. When someone switches from iPhone and says the android sucks, it is completely out of context without telling us what specific android they got. Many people confuse hardware issues with being OS issues.

Yup, I can trace back every issue I've had to either Samsung hardware or Samsung software. No issues with the pure Android experience

Yeah
I don't think Apple is bad, and I definitely appreciate the hardware. But pretty much everything on iOS is harder than on Android. Apple is just so fricking stubborn.
Which is why it's annoying to see "LOOK AT THE PIXEL BLATANTLY COPYING IPHONE" stuff from people who pretend Apple invented quick settings 3 years after it arose in other platforms.
Overall though, I just can't get too passionate about a cell phone OS. Hell I might switch back to iPhone this year (after 4 android phones) because a way to bridge the sms/imessage gap doesn't appear to be forthcoming

Luckily the only person that sends me videos is my wife, and they are of our children for you pervs out there...
I got her to use Allo for that purpose and we have a shared Google photos album. Really hoping the RCS stuff I've read about comes to fruition

Why, you want a hand?

How can any user experience be better than personalized, custom user experience without limits?
A "personalized, custom user experience" requires effort.
I've had an iPhone since before Android existed, and I would be lying if I said I didn't covet some Android features over the years. During the golden age of iOS jailbreaking I did a lot of jailbreaking and customization.... but these days, I simply don't care enough to "customize a user experience." iOS does 99% of what I want to do very well out of the box. I just want to buy a phone and use it.
If you like Android, then use Android, I'm glad it exists, since it's pushed Apple to improve their platform over the years.
