I’m still on an iPhone 12, and decided to finally upgrade to the 16, but just realized the Apple cucks stopped making their leather cases which I loved. They did a good job of drop protection, while still remaining slim and understated.

It looks like all they offer now is their silicone case. Do the silicone cases protect the phones as well as the leather ones did? Do they have that similar plastic ridgid insert on the edges, or is it sort of unstructured and bendable? If yes, I’ll just switch to the silicone.

Feel free to toss in any other brands that produce leather cases with at least equal drop protection of the old apple leather cases.

I use a really thin $5 silicone case from Amazon. Probably $1 from AliExpress. It’s fine. Nothing has broken in three years but it’s kind of yellow now. This is probably the first phone I haven’t broken, but also the first I used any case at all for.

I've used Black Brook for my last 3 phones. I like the ones with rubber sides and leather back.

Mujjo leather case is pretty much an exact match for the old Apple leather cases. I preferred the old Apple leather cases and the Mujjo ones feel and last exactly the same. I think the leather is a bit better quality than the old Apple ones if anything.

I've had some type of this case on my last 4 iPhones. I think the first two were a brand named Silk, and the last two are these Smartish brand ones. They're really thin and have good drop protection.

Saved phone from several face down drops on concrete. The only downside is the buttons are sharp, and can catch on your pocket with tight pants.

I use the nomad leather cases

They may be slightly bulkier than Apple but not by a ton, and I think the grip is better. They have sort of a concave rigid side edge that is pretty nice.

I originally went silicone but I'm not sure if the protection is as good and they're annoying to pull out of your pocket all day

Caudabe for non-leather. They make a quality case.

Andar for leather. On the pricey side, but I use their leather cases for both my phone, MacBook Air, and AirPods. I even bought their leather wallet that is magnetized and sticks to the back of my iPhone.

Target and WMT have their own brand cases (deal worthy and Oon) that are protege and cheap.

If you want a rugged case but still transparent, they have one
