exactly

talk about throwing stones in a glass house

my iptv service is well worth the $90 a year.

I still need to figure out how to record using the PVR client. I already have my 4TB storage working with Kodi.

your head

do you understand the problem of being 100% reliant on something that could disappear at any time?

the operative word is 'downloading'. once i download it, its mine forever*

*forever being until my shitty hard drive fails.

I have zero interest in keeping any movies I watch. My kids are grown and don't do the 1 movie 800 times anymore. Sure, maybe in a few years I'll want to rewatch something but it's not worth keeping anything.

I'm for whatever works. Right now, paying Vaders for iptv and filling it with kodi scrapes is working. If it get's to where I can't get what I want I'll get real debrid. If that still doesn't work, then I'll end up trying torrents. I'm not completely sold out to even 720p, much less 4k streams, if it bothered me that much then I think torrents is the only real way anymore. Back in the day it was newsgroups for me.

i wasnt educating you you douche. i was educating people who dont know the evolution of it.

i wasnt offended at anything. and i didnt attack an opposing thought. I just pointing out that opposing thought was stupid.

where did i say this. to me it sounds like you got offended when someone talked about about your precious Kodi, then you melted.

oohh yall two...... you are coming off like the miserable Jjdoc.

But the quality of Kodi will NEVER touch the quality of having a plex server. I do not know this as fact but i HIGHLY doubt the 4k streams you are watching on Kodi are actually 4k. From all of my experience, most 4k files are HEVC 10 bit files.... and the only streaming device that can stream this is the Nvidia Shield.

dont get me wrong, other devices can stream 4k from youtube and netflix, but they are using that file structure and have way more capacity than a normal plex server.

Durex Build. I hadn't used Kodi in 8+ months so I deleted by old file and re-installed fresh rather than updating.

Gaia does have true 4k files. 2160p. There are a lot of 4k files that are 1600p though.

Really. It's rare to get 4 of us to agree on a friggin movie, much less for all of us to love a movie. It's just simple filling entertainment for me. About the same as watching something off youtube. Right now I can load up most popular movies off Kodi and have to go through 20 pages before I find anything I'm willing to halfway watch.

Ripped shared downloaded 4k will almost always be better quality than anything streamed just due to the codec and amount of compression. I know back when I was downloading newsgroup movies in .ts format, it was a huge difference. Now my eyes really aren't good enough to really appreciate 4k.

It passed it years ago and still sets the trend. Again, your downloading and establishing a library was doable 10 years ago with Kodi.

That would be wrong sir. My "box" when plugged into my 1080p TV, my TV tells me that the rate is to high. When I plug the same said box into my 4K TV, it shows the rate.

And it's not a shield. It's not an Apple. I refuse to pay for over the top boxes due to brand.

I'm desperate for help. I have an android box 3 and 32 gigs.

Kodi isn't working. I've tried terrarium and plex. I couldn't get either to work. For some reason my box won't let me update kodi. I'm open for anything that I'm capable of doing.
Also I looked at buying a new box but none of them excluding the nvidia shield were any better than what I have.

I think it's saying that you already have a file with the same name.

you know if you actually read my previous posts you would see I prefaced this whole argument XBMC started as a media server, just as Plex... Why live such a miserable life, grump.

It's a CSA-93, Octa core amlogic 912 processor, 3 gigs of ram and 32 gigs of storage. The kodi app is kdmc
I have exodus, covenant, flixnet, genesis reborn as addons. The kodi is 17.2 if I'm not mistaken.

My box plays everything, but then again it's a i7 with a 1070. We also play games and emulators on it too and even a little work.
