quote:thats whay i said, the bear bones of kodi is XBMC which is a media server...... which is what Plex is, a media server.
You can add your server and movies in your library to Kodi also.

quote:sure. but isnt this whole purpose is getting around paying for stuff? you could just pay for cable and not have to worry abotu all of this.
Question for you IPT guys. Am I understanding the rules correctly that I could just donate 5 bucks and get 2 weeks of VIP and then in that time pretty much download every 4k they have and not get hit with penalties? So I could just delete the torrent as soon as it's done and not sweat the HNR stuff?
ohh if you want to get into 4k downloads i hope you have some storage. I just recently upgraded my storage to 24 TB. yea thats TBs

quote:fine my post about shucking 8 TB WD passports. FRom what i have found this is the cheapest way to get data. I still need one or 2 more. So i can get my Raid up to 1+0.
I can get a 6tb drive for $100 or so it looks like. That still isn't much room for full 2160p mkv's though.
ETA: looks like yall talked about that already. If you get a white label you need to remove the 3.3volt sata connector.

Sure it is. I'm happy though paying for the middle ground where it's reasonable and it makes it easier for me to pirate things. I'll happily pay $5 for 100 4k movies instead of having to download them over a period of months. Same with IPTV. I'll pay every month to avoid having to find streams, etc. I just turn the TV on and there it is, with way more options than cable.

i know. im still just on raid 0 with no back ups. im one 8tb drive shy to be able to do a raid 10. i need to get 2 more so i can set up a raid 10 with 4 then transfer everything from the 5th drive, then add it to the raid array.
do you know of a program that will create a coppy or a clone folder on another HDD of a folder on another HDD. that will like update on a schedule?

RAR mattered a lot more when we didn't have automated mechanisms for continuing downloads when disconnects happen. You maintain a good chunk of the file and only need to download the remaining bits to complete. Not sure that it serves a huge function anymore.

Yea I went with 12 4tb drives in raid 10 so I could fill up a dell MD1200. Thankfully my plex library is only 4tb or so right now, but the storage server is also for my twitch stream recordings, home backup, and soon to be IP cameras storage
Hmm, I'd have to look for something

exactly how i thought you would take it.....even with my inital warning of dont take it personal.

"Hey it's not personal" took it personal when I said the exact same thing.
Interesting isn't it.
quote:
IDGAF if you worked on XBMC. Kodi is fricking shite.
I didn't ask for you to care. I made this comment to a person about what is basically a library.
quote:
currently use Kodi and don't have a problem with it on any of my devices, but I am also interested in Plex, but really don't want to have to spend time ripping my DVDs and downloading torrents for the next year.
I explained that it could be down without either of those in KODI.
quote:
You can do the same with Kodi. In fact you can set up the shows you like, and as episodes come out, it does it automatically with art work. Then it notifies you that you have a new show. Same with movies.
Then you decided, for what ever reason be a dick.
quote:
here we go....
I dont want to sound like a dick but what i talk about this i kinda do.
Then you sought to educate me on the history of Kodi. The fact still remains that you can do the exact same thing without torrents.
quote:
what does this mean?
It means that you seem to be offended that somebody else is offering a different opinion so you attacked that thought.
quote:
Im in here to learn cool things and to teach cool things i have learned.
So long as nobody is teaching others?
quote:
Why are you a miserable person?
I'm not the one that decided to go personal. I replied to a guy who liked Kodi and evidently did not know that he can do what he is seeking to do with KODI.

Terrarium has been lackluster past few weeks. Streams keep buffering, click a link and different movie plays, etc.
I've switched back to Kodi because of that, and have been happy with the switch. Loved Terrarium for a long time but the buffering has been really bad. No matter what I watch, after about 6-10 minutes it buffers indefinitely. If I back out and reload it, it goes another 6-10 minutes, then repeat. I'll try to reinstall it eventually, but I wonder if they're doing it to get people to see more ads.

Never had this issue. Had the wrong files of course, but never the others. I got the ad free version from Mobilism. And paid $18 for 6 months of real debrid, so I get nice green links.
I watched Juarassic World last night and the quality was a hell of a lot better than what I remember CAMs being years ago. The stream I watched though was 3GB compared to the others that were 1GB or so. That's from having real debrid.

Which add on are you using?

Check out Morpheus TV, I'm starting to like that better as well.

No offense but in a week you'll be saying the opposite.
Y'all are counting on an infrastructure for streaming based out of Romania and China and as such those will go up and down with changes in the wind.
Get off the hamster wheel! If my internet went down tomorrow for a month I wouldnt miss a beat.
