Just added a mildly retarded smart bulb to my house

As God as my witness I have no idea where this came from. I was looking in my 'home automation' closet and found a GEENI dimmable/white level WiFi bulb.
Great, I says. Since its WiFi it has an API and will probably work with various hubs.
WRONG.
So I get the dumb thing set up which was a challenge then see it won't actually work with any hubs.
No problem says I, I'll hook it up to Alexa at least.
Works fine on/off dim in Alexa.
I want it to turn off automatically every night like every other damn bulb in my house.
No can do. The app has a 'schedule' feature but thats nothing more than setting a timer. useless.
No problem, says I. Alexa will take care of it.
"Alexa turn the stupid GEENI bulb off at 8pm every night" "I'm sorry i don't understand what you're asking"
So now I can turn it off via voice but who the hell sells a smart bulb that can't be put on a schedule?
And more importantly, where did the damn thing come from?
I have no recollection of having purchased this.
