I am sure this has been discussed on this board at some juncture.
That being said, what should I expect and what apps should I load?
Many thanks, cable is chewing my arse.

Don't waste your time
It's too universally known at this point (hell, Dish is suing one of the made add on developers).

kodi works just fine on fire sticks and firetv
anyway to the OP, downloading Kodi on the device is easier than ever. Literally use the downloader app and then download kodi from the site.

I sideloaded Terrarium tv and have been using that first over any Kodi addon. It has annoying ads after each show but you can remove ads with a $5.99 payment. I've also seen ad free apk's floating around the internet so I'm going to try one of those. You can get great HD and I haven't had a single show buffer even once. It's a work in process right now but once the dev adds full trakt support it'll be exactly what I want for tv.

Can someone link me to some instructions to stream sports (MLB primarily)? I've watched some youtube videos and I'm not having any success. Also I'm stupid when it comes to this stuff.

Its kinda a pain in the buttocks using exodus. Half the pages want to auth your IP address first

I authorize my IP all the time.
Takes 10 seconds.

What's the latest on some apps (Netflix, etc.) not working on Fire TVs and sticks that have been "jailbroken"
Posted on 6/23/17 at 10:53 pm to jmcwhrter
I think I have been mislead. I was advised that fire stick jail broken and correctly "loaded" would yield all manner of free movies including premium channels and movies in theater also all manner of sports (goodbye NFL pass) and TV channels to your heart's content.
Was this bullshite?

There are literally hundreds of posts on Firestick and Kodi. The whole cord cutting post will show you all you need

Jail broken is not the correct term. You're not modifying anything on the firestick. All you're doing is downloading a program (Kodi) onto it that allows you to add other programs (Exodus, Zen, etc) that will give you access to all kinds of movies and tv shows. Yes, some of the movies will be just released in theaters (more often than not, they will not be DVD quality) and you also will be able to get a lot of movies that have just been released on DVD. The TV shows are fantastic, you basically get every network plus the pay networks. The only drawback is you cannot watch shows as they are premiering. So when the Season 7 Game of Thrones kicks off, you can watch it Monday night instead of Sunday, a small inconvenience. It is not bullshite though. It's like Netflix and Hulu on steroids.

How? I haven't been able to do it with kodi 17.1
Posted on 6/25/17 at 9:19 am to RealityTiger
That worked on previous version of kodi but I did it on 17.1 and it doesn't work

There's a way to stop captcha. I'm using the latest Kodi and it works. You're just gonna have to dig througj YouTube and google to find it. It's as simple as clicking a toggle in the settings.
