I have a 2018 Ford F-150 and it looks like my sync is going out. It constantly loses connection with my Bluetooth and my whole radio display will either freeze up or be very slow to respond to touch screen demands. Has anyone dealt with this? My truck is out of warranty and I’m trying to see about what this will cost to fix since the dealership is being a pain to deal with. I have to drop my truck off with them to evaluate but I need my truck for work. TIA

before you give up have you tried updating the firmware? i had a 2012 and the process was pretty straightforward; just download the file to a thumbdrive and plug it into the USB and it updated and fixed some of the issues I was having.

just a thought and its free to try...

Same issues as you on my 2018. I've updated the firmware and still have the same issues. Dealer has not given me any hope of fixing it.

The computer is going out. Called an APIM. I had mine in my 2016 replaced 2 times under warranty if I remember correctly. 3rd one is still doing great to this day.

There is a Service bulletin out saying updating the firmware might fix the issue. LINK

I have a 2015 F150 and it has been doing this the last few days.

Usually I just turn the truck off, open the door, and start it back up again and it connects fine.

If it does completely go out on you, you can replace yourself and save.

Since my truck is a 2015, it came with the older MFT screen and I swapped in a Sync3 screen from an expedition.

There is videos on YouTube on how to replace. Can find the APIM’s on eBay
