10 seems a LOT looser.

It really is and it comes with a metric frickton of drivers. The only issue I've come across is when doing an upgrade from 7. During the upgrade process Windows will keep many (if not all) of the things in your Windows folder (C:\Windows) but move it to Windows.old. Your drivers are usually found in C:\Windows\system32\DriverStore and during the upgrade process I've found Windows will not replace a few driver associations from 7 with their counterpart in 10. (it's been a while since I've tinkered with it so I don't remember the exact ones, I just remember it was a PITA to have to find the open file, research what it was for, hunt down a current version, uninstall the old one then install the one I downloaded)

This means windows.old cannot be deleted in its entirety until that driver is updated with either a Windows 10 version or the old driver is uninstalled then reinstalled from within 10 (to move the association to the version in the Windows 10 DriverStore).

I want to say this happens when you do the upgrade to the 1903 build as well.

Found one in my area...may have to scoop it up!
I would (obviously, since I did )

everything I'm reading here and elsewhere, you can't build this at this price, even going used.

SCORE!!!

I went around at different Walmarts, trying to find another of the desktops; no love. I checked on the HP Pavillion laptop listed (going for $249), again no go.

I was at the Walmart on O'Neal, where they have the cage for the laptops out in the front, and the guy was looking, we didn't see the HP. And then I saw, and asked:
Hey, what's that MSI box?

MSI GP63 Leopard-077 15.6" Performance Gaming Laptop i7-8750H (6 cores), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6G, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD, 16GB RAM, WIN 10, VR READY, RGB KB
$449, marked down from... higher than that
Brickseek saying that's 74% off MSRP, and the guy at the desk said it was listing at $1200 before.

They have one of those at the Laplace Walmart (that was on Slickdeals probably close to a year ago) but they refuse to sell it to me for that price, even though it shows the $449 price tag on brickseek and on the price scanner

So they have one, they scan it and it shows 449, and they refuse to sell?

Did they give a reason why? I mean, it's not coming out of the manager's pocket if it's on clearance. I suspect he wants to buy it himself, once you left.

If you wanted it bad enough, I would consider asking the store manager why his staff refuses to sell merchandise to customers at the scanned price. Might not make you any friends, but on the other hand, do you really worry what they think of you after you leave the store?

They scanned it and it said 449? That's some horseshite. I'd talk to some management. They are probably trying to buy it so you won't.
