I've never had FB nor do I want to. But FB marketplace would be a nice option. Is there any way to get access or is there an alternative site that sellers post their sale items to in additon to FB? ?

My business account (and other items relating to my business) and Marketplace are about 90% of why I still have a FB

Most of the negative comments on this site about the platform is why I’ve never pursued it and don’t want to now.

No, you can't use Facebook without a Facebook account.

i dont think it works that way. my wife has a fb account strictly for BST and she's had to work her way into the 'premium' BST groups over time. the good ones require someone to invite you.

i think anything you would get as an anonymous fb-er would be trash like craigslist.

The whole premise of FB Marketplace is to sell/buy from people who have a profile with history and information. It helps to minimize the scams and BS you have to deal with on sites like Craigslist.

yep. a little too 'black mirrorish' for me. wife sells ALOT of crap and has a great reputation but has to go after the occasional disgruntled buyer or troll who makes comments without even buying.

i put my f150 on there last year when i was planning to sell it and good lord -- so many comments of people saying she was stupid and selling it for way too much.

protip: we sold it to the local nissan dealer and got more from them than i had it listed on BST for. just a bunch of pissed off rednecks because they couldn't get a steal on a f150 from a 'dumb woman'.

Larger items like vehicles can be really tough, regardless of the host site. FB certainly has their share of idiots and shite stirrers. IMO, the benefit is when you have a network of friends/relatives, it gives you the ability to tap into that. Instead of texting your dad and uncles “Hey I’m selling my truck if you know anybody interested”, FB Marketplace let’s that happen in a little more organized way as people share your listing.

It can also help if you have some rare or unique items with a very specific market. For example, as I reply to CAD, I had joined a group for Wink HA items a while back where people would list their HA items in a little more specific group where people understood the value. My buddy just sold his M3 on a specialized BMW group, minimizing the interaction with the tirekickers and other idiots who just want to joyride it.

Don't be stupid. Just get you a Facebook account, it won't hurt you.

Also, I join for groups. I belong to professional groups that share there, plus groups devoted to my interests, like remodeling, firearms and automotive.
