quote:Yes.
Is it because of all of the bloatware?
quote:It will, but the bloatware goes much deeper than the launcher. Samsung changes the notification panel, the settings interface, and there are miscellaneous other programs that are always running and can't be uninstalled. Root and flash custom is your best bet, but if you do that might as well get a phone that comes with stock Android.
If I download Google Now Launcher won't this give me a pretty good interface?

Same materials on multiple Android phones.

Stability of performance. My older androids seemed to lag on stuff like web browsing and app crashing
Not really relevant in 2016 either. The chips inside any high end phone these days is a performance powerhouse. And yet another "old Android" comparison, although you don't specify just how old.

Camera has always been solid with iPhone
The newest Samsung phones usually have a better camera than the iPhone, or they grade out even.

Lack of bloatware
Guess that depends on the phone, mine personally has no bloatware at all stock.

When switching to newer iPhones it is seemless.
Arguably easier on Android.

Um, personal preference? Are people not allowed to have different tastes/opinions? I never owned an iPhone before but if you have other Apple products, I can see the benefits of using one over an Android.

It's amazing how much people care what other phone someone uses and how they create some false sense of superiority because they use one device or another.
"Oh, the ISheep fanboys are too stupid and can't handle the complex powerhouse of my android super-phone"
Yeah, most people are smart enough to handle any phone. It's just personal preference. Most people like simple devices that work. Apple fills that need for them.
Oh and for Mr. "I'm so educated", here's one for ya:
Choice-supportive bias

Absolutely, just wanted to see if there was any knock on Android that Apple users see considering I'm thinking of switching to an Android device.
Was also looking to see Android users reasons as to why they have an Android device.

Android and iOS are both just fine, pick the one you like better and go with it.
The people who throw fits about either one are useless.

But I've heard security flaws are much worse with androids

most likely if youre low IQ/technologically illiterate
iphones are designed for soccer moms and teenage girls

its also hilariously amusing, that whenever im out with a different girl, and i see her iphone, that she will get stock updates on the main screen.
and then i ask her if she plays the stock market and she is like "no, omg, its just always on my phone i cant take it off"
frickING LOL

honestly, it is because apple phones come in one form straight out of the box and that form works for most people.
Android gives you unlimited flexibility in customization, but a lot of people don't want or need that. I have an interest in technology, so to me learning about different launchers, texting apps, etc. is fun. For most, they don't want the headache.
This really is it. The only other major reason is people buy into the hype of the brand. I really do not know many Apple users that researched their phone or can tell me anything beyond what the memory is on their phone.

He had the S2. I had the S5 and it was the worst phone I've ever owned.
Samsung is shite and my carrier really doesn't carry other brands worth a frick. So? I'm switching to Apple.

part of this is again people don't care. I don't give a shite about all the specs of a phone. I want something i can snap some photos with, send text/calls, and search the web with. iPhone does that fine for me.
My smartphone experiences have been Android, iPhone, iPhone, then got Note7. Im trading in my note7 tomorrow for an iphone7.
Everyone in my social circle has iPhones and its easier to stay in contact and communicate with them using iPhones.
I will say i LOVED the actual phone of the Note7. But i hated the operating system. I miss ios. and cannot wait to get an iPhone back.
Cracks me up though how much android people care about why we don't want androids.

What is the main reason Apple owners don't use an Android device?
1) Video messaging
2) Imessage (Android's is a joke; let's be honest)
3) Apple pay (better experience and inconsistent on Android)
4) integration with most media systems in vehicles ( I can plug my iPhone through USB and play music that is streaming; incredibly rare on Android)
5) SECURITY (Android doesn't come close and inconsistent across OEMs)
6) Touch ID (better experience, inconsistent across OEMs)
7) Gboard (lol @ at Google giving Apple a better product)
8) All of Google's services are available on iOS = no advantage for Android = less reasons for switching. Or more reasons to convert)
9) ability to AdBlock on main browser without rooting or jailbreaking.
10) Camera
11) RETENTION of VALUE!!!!!! (I bought one iPhone outright and can now trade it in to Verizon every year and get the new iphone for free; only having to stay with Verizon for 2 more years (lol no problem staying ). If you don't like that idea, one year after purchase the iPhones value for 16GB is $450 on SWAPPA.)
Bye Android, nice knowing you.

I disagree here, I fkn love Hangouts so much, and as of the update to it about a month or so ago video messages are built in now and can be taken directly from the message box. Took forever, and I never ever send videos as that is called Snapchat, but nice they finally added it.
I use Hangouts on my PC, I love how it is built into Google Chrome or available as an App on my PC and I can even answer my phone calls from it and use my PC's headset and mic automatically.
As someone that works from home, I use Hangouts to reply to pretty much every text and answer every phone call while on my PC. It is fantastic never having to even touch my phone while working.
Everyone has their own different uses.

I switched to an Android device last year after owning iPhones since they came out.
It's been a pretty miserable experience and I have been anticipating the release of the 7, which I just preordered.
I have a galaxy s6 edge+. Like others have said it's pretty slow at times. It crashes quite a bit. The integration with google is often annoying. If I go to a store, I get notifications to add pictures/menus/handicap accessibility etc to google maps.
When I take photos, it makes a slideshow - you can't disable this. The battery life is also terrible. Without increasing my habits, it uses 10x the data bc google is keeping a constant uplink.
It's not nearly intuitive and smooth as my iPhones have been. I thought this would be a completely customizable device, but it's really not.
I'm sure that rooting a pure, gluten-free, organic Android device is a better experience than a galaxy, but I'm not a power user. I just want to pick up the device and quickly open apps with a neat and simple UI. I also use a macbook and I miss iMessage.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to by the most common thing I hear, that is equal to the era of what, the 3GS? I mean shiiiiiit that is so damn long ago.
But yeah the S5 definitely sucked dick, seemed like the S6/S7 got back on track though idk I only buy Nexus devices, I would get the LG V20 if I was getting a new phone this year but I've never owned an LG so it would be an experiment for sure. Think I'll stick with my 6P until the Google phone next year.

This.
My $760 phone is worth ~$180.
If I had gotten an iPhone last year, I could trade in for up to $650 or upgrade to a 7 for free.
