First off, I am not a tech person. I am a dinosaur in that regard. I hardly use my computer. I have never used social media. I have never bought a phone. I always activate an old phone that my wife/daughter/son has abandoned in the process of an upgrade. I currently have an iPhone 6s.
I don’t use my phone for any other purpose than to text, call, and play around on TD.
I don’t even like to carry a phone around but my job requires me to do so.
Anyway- my wife bought me a Series 3 Applewatch with cellular and it is amazing.
I can’t imagine going without this thing. I don’t go near my phone anymore. I accidentally left my phone at home one day and didn’t even care.
While on vacation, I left my phone locked in the hotel safe for days at a time. I called my mom to wish her happy birthday, texted with friends, communicated with my employee back at the office, used Apple Pay to pay for most everything I needed. (All with a watch)
Also, I am in the process of training for a marathon and the Nike run app is awesome.
I sound like a commercial for the applewatch but I don’t care. It’s the first time I have been excited about technology in years.

Treated myself to a Series 3 last month for my bday. Was one of those people who thought the watch was stupid cause “anything it can do so can my iPhone” While while that is true for most things...I anoustely love this thing. Got the non LTE version but the freedom to run without my phone and listen to music is worth the price in itself. Add in the fact I can get my calls, texts, emails etc. worth the money imo.

Just being able to take handsfree calls in vehicles my phone isn't paired to is alone worth it. Super happy with this thing.

Quick question on the non-cellular model: can you stream music to the phone? Or do you have to have the cellular model with a plan to stream to the watch?

It has built in storage that you can save music to

quote:I understand that...and the cellular version of the phone is actually 16GB while the GPS-only is only 8GB. My question was with respect to actually streaming music from the could. I think I found the answer on the Apple website late yesterday. I ended up telling the wife to go ahead and get the cellular watch for me (Father's Day gift).
