IPhone Mini - what's old is new again

I am test driving this little phone, and I must say it is growing on me. My current phone is the largest one Apple sells, and although I like the screen size, using it one-handed is nearly impossible. The mini feels like a throwback to older phones: small and compact, but with upgraded hardware. It has an excellent OLED screen, and you can get them with 256GB of storage. The size is both a pro and a con. The pro is the size and weight. It feels so small and light compared to the latest phones. Front pocket, back pocket, shirt pocket - it can go anywhere. The con is the screen size and re-adjusting to typing with a smaller phone. I have adjusted to the typing part pretty quickly; the screen size still is a bit of a shock at first.
Time will tell if I decide to keep it, but so far so good.

Ratio-wise, the notch at the top is larger on this phone than all of the other 12s. Do you notice it much? The mini is smaller than the se, but has a larger screen. When you take into account the notch though, it’s not much bigger. Just curious what your thoughts are.

Which SE you talking about
1st Genreation SE (same size as iphone 5) or 2nd Genration SE (same size as iphone 8)????
I'm still using the 1st SE because I like the small size

2nd gen SE. The mini is a little bit smaller, but the screen is a little bit bigger because the whole face is screen unlike the se which has blank space at the top and bottom.

Now that you mention it, it does seem comically larger on this phone when compared to others. The notch never really bothered me on any of the iPhones before. It isn’t something I really noticed on this one.

So you think you'll be keeping it or too early to tell?

There is a trade-off with screen size, but I am keeping it. I love how portable it is.

So what’s the verdict for those that have had the mini for a little while. Sticking with it?

I can’t imagine how much I’d suck at typing on that lil guy.

I just got the 12 pro and it is huge. The 12 mini is a little bigger than the iphone 8

still liking the iPhone mini? anyone else have one and prefer it over the regular size 12? just wondering if you think the screen is too small or what.

Well it is the worst selling iPhone in the 12 family and Apple has slashed most orders for the mini for the rest of the year. I won't be surprised if the mini gets cut for the next model.
If you want a small iPhone with a full screen form factor, I'd get one today and hope Apple refreshes the 12 mini a few years down the line as the iPhone SE 3rd Gen or something.

Still love the mini. i previously had the X and the smaller size is great; have zero issues with battery life.
