I have been looking at the Surface for a while, but I was wondering if there is something comparable without spending 1k.
I also need it to connect to a second monitor so with the surface i'll need the dock too correct?

Anything, literally anything, will work for that in 2021. Just buy one that’s cheap and looks pretty enough for your liking.

I like windows for most of my work in IT. But the the base model M1 MacBook Air provides great value at $899. 8gb ram isn’t an issue with the M1 series. At least It for Power point word and internet.

Bought a cheap Chromebook a couple months back. Maybe 150 plus tax. I use it for browsing, watching movies on flights and light word processing. Works flawlessly.
