Last night, I had activities with my family and friends until around 7:00, then stopped on the way, picked up some groceries and finally made it home at 7:45. Took a shower, dressed in comfy clothes, went upstairs to the media room and kicked back to watch the whole game from the very beginning.

It must suck to have DirecTV Now and not able to DVR the games. Feel for you guys that don't have that yet.

Your cable/internet combo is definitely in the minority.

My Vue and Xfinity internet combined are $80. DirecTv alone for me had gotten up to $90.

You have to be on some ridiculous promotion.

DirecTV is $140 alone for me. I can't wait until my contract is up in February.

PSVue is $45 a month on up to five simultaneous streams. I get every local network station and every sports station, plus access to all the apps for each channel. Unlimited DVR.

No DVR fees, no STB rental fees, no federal, state, local taxes, no franchise fee, no cost recovery fee. No locking in for two years. No increase in price after a year.

It's disingenuous to include Internet fees in comparison. I mean, are you NOT going to have Internet at your home?

I don't really mind that so much as I mind the small text. Their GUI could use an overhaul.

I do like the fact that I can look backwards many days looking for something.

New vue plans are $10 higher for now than those who already had it. They were supposed to raise the grandfathered people's price already but pushed that back to idk when.

ATT is running crazy promos to combat cord cutting. I was a slingtv subscriber, but I ran the numbers and I got uverse u300 and 100mb internet for 105/month out the door locked in for 2 years.

I was paying more than that for Comcast internet, so I jumped back to the darkside.

Spectrum just sent me a promo. $80 for HD cable service plus 100 mb internet.

No mention, however, of DVR fees, set top box rental fees, taxes, franchise fees, cost recovery fees, or what it will go to in a year. Since I have five rooms that would require a STB, I would assume those are likely $16 each x 5 for another $80 a month. I purchased my five FireTV boxes and sticks a year and a half ago. The savings just keep piling up.

You are on a great deal that they have started to come out with thanks to services like PS Vue driving prices down. When I cut the cord last December I was paying $120 just for TV with 2 boxes and DVR. I pay $55 for PS Vue top package which includes HBO and Showtime. That will go up to $75 in December and I might switch to DirecTVNow since I have AT&T wireless and their promotional rates are insane. I have the freedom to do that because I'm not locked into a contract. Something else these streaming services are changing.

You should pick the service that works best for you, but you should thank Dish (owns Sling) and Sony for bringing competition to a market that sorely needed it.

So how to you handle games that last longer than the slotted schedule time? When I trialed Vue, I couldn't figure how to make this happen. I would try it again if there was a way to handle this.

I think that may be up to the broadcaster. I rewatched a Pelicans game a few days ago and it had a Fox Sports branded message saying that it was edited for time. It's a freaking cloud based DVR, you shouldn't need to edit it for time and cut 4 minutes of the first quarter

Since I don't worry about limits, I select EVERYTHING that interests me, games before and after included. That way, if it runs over, no problem.

What's so difficult about adding a feature that lets you add an extra hour so you don't have to jump through hoops?
