Help setting up 3 tvs in my front room…

Is it as easy as getting a coax splitter and going from the wall into the input of the splitter and then taking 3 coax cables going from the output of the splitter into the back of my cable box recovers?
And then use HDMI from the cable boxes to my TVs?

That should work.
Roku makes it easier.
Roku makes it easier.

I’m trying to get a nice set up for the rest of football season and wasn’t sure if it was easy as what I posted….
Will it matter that my main cable receiver is the main one and the other two from my bedrooms are the smaller satellite mini boxes?

satellite boxes and coax are obsolete technology.
they are only kept alive by cable & satellite companies because they're a cash cow and they can charge you per tv to run cables and add boxes.
in 2021 all you need is a $15 stick from roku, google or amazon to do everything you need but the bitch dying cable & satellite dinosaurs are doing everything they can to keep old people and the uninformed on their 'monthly equipment charge' plans.
disgusting.
eta i probably have 10 TVs around my house in various rooms and all i need is power. no punching more holes in the walls, buying stupid 1990s era coax splitters, no monthly equipment charges for outdated cable boxes. Just the built in apps or a stick plugged into the back of the TV.

It really shouldn't be a problem.
I think the only thing to worry about is the remotes. You might have to go into some advanced settings to make sure that one remote won't change the channel on all three boxes.

So if I have the USB plug in the back of my tv, I can buy one roku for each tv and watch all the channels that I could if I was using my cable receiver?

keep in mind most roku & stick devices have a powered option as well so even if you don't have a USB port you can still plug the device into a wall outlet.
who is your cable provider? i think xfinity at least now is offering a usb/hdmi stick option but i have no idea how useful or locked down it is or if they offer an app for other sticks like roku or amazon.
have you asked about that option instead of doing all the hardwired coax splitting?
eta looks like xfinity at least..in the Lord's Year of 2021..is finally offering an app for Roku devices with a few caveats.
LINK
you're kidding yourself if you don't believe they are ONLY doing this because they are getting killed by options like youtubeTV that just work on virtually any tv in existence.

I have Cox for tv and internet
Posted on 11/5/21 at 2:47 pm to LSUguy2023
Did a little sleuthing and it looks like Cox is firmly still in the world of 2005 and not providing any options outside of MOAR coax splitters and MOAR cable set-top boxes.
they should be tarred and feathered.

Even with Cox, you'll still be able to sign in to any app on a Roku/fire stick/etc to watch their live TV

Hook your internet feed into a copper ethernet switch ($20 on Amazon) then use 3 ethernet patch cords (measure how long they need to reach) from the switch to the 3 separate roku ultra's, then 3 hdmi cables from each roku to each tv.
Use the roku's to log into the streaming service you want, it can be the same service on each roku or different streaming services if needed to get the channels you want.
If you use the same streaming service on all three tv's, make sure your plan has enough simultaneous streams to support 3 at the same time.
Lable the roku remotes so you don't mix them up.
You can use the wifi versions of the roku if you want, but since you said these will be next to each other, the wire will make it simpler. If you will be running multiple tv's at the same time on wireless, make sure you have a good router (everyone should have one anyway). You can use other devices instead of roku, but that is my preference.
Turn up the sound on the tv that you are watching (at the time) and mute the other 3. Switch as needed.
This is what we do for bowl season.
The two other tv's and roku's would normally live in my kids rooms.
Also, ditch Cox and cable, it's not 1980 anymore.

Pretty much. Just download whatever channels app (ESPN) and use your cable providers log in.

I’ll give you one on the cable boxes but I don’t think anyone has ever made a tv that would work with satellite w/o an external receiver.
I also refuse to go to anyones house that only has streaming to watch a game or other live event. It’s getting better but when the entire neighborhood jumps on ESPN through their cable modem etc. it sucks.

I haven't had bandwidth issues with my internet in years. Is that still a thing in the age of GBbit throughout?
Eta maybe your beef is with the ESPN app specifically when it's under heavy load. I never use it because it's always been crap in the past so I don't know.

This sounds like more of an issue related to internet speed. Chances are the homeowner is not getting the speed they are paying for. After establishing that the problem is not the router and the internet company still fails to address it, a complaint filed with the FCC (a simple internet webpage) can take care of the issue. It worked for me.
