I'm set on the 55" and have narrowed it down to the TCL p series and the Vizio m series. I game a bit on the side, though that's becoming less and less as I get older. I'm open to other suggestions within the 500-600 dollar price range.

TCL 6-series

55" Will be the same price as 2017's P605 series.

How noticeable is the difference between 96 and 72 local dimming? Honest question. If thats the only image difference between the 6-series and P-series and it isnt a huge difference maker, maybe it's worth it to get the P series if you can find it discounted once the 6 comes out?

I'm starting to look for a 4k as well. Trying to figure out if the OLED is worth the extra money.

I’m in the same situation, I didn’t know about the TCL 6Series to be the same price with some upgrades. Now, I guess I’ll wait to see how much the 55” P Series will drop.

I would wait considering the 6 series will be out this spring. I'm not sure if there's an exact date, but it's really soon. I'm sure the P-series will drop in price, but the fact that the 6-series comes out with the same retail price as the P is crazy to me. I would definitely wait and buy.

I had some professional AV work done at my house recently. I would have spent more, but they said the LG was best bang for the buck. I went from a 55" 1080p to a 65" 4k. It is a nice tv. They said the TLC is decent. Sony's are good TV's. Vizio bids out their specs, so you don't know who is actually making it.

I'm starting to look for 8k TV's.

Seriously though I want to get a 4k for the living room but want 70 or 80"

The TLC P series with Roku looks nice!

I have a Vizio M series and enjoy it as well
