HD Antenna - Have to be hooked to a TV or can it feed the whole coaxial system?

First...I am done with the cable company.
I will stream going forward however I was wondering if I need a separate HD antenna for local digital channels for each TV or can I connect one to the main coaxial feed outside the house and have digital signal in the rooms that have coaxial already run to them?
I know this answer may be in the cutting the cable thread but I cannot look through all of that so thanks in advance.

I have all the coax run to a single HD antenna in my media closet

I have it hooked to my tablo in my attic. I then watch all of my local shows with Guide and DVR on any device I want (Iphone, FireTV, Roku, AppleTv, etc)
I can even stream my antenna on LTE with my iphone which is pretty cool.

Yes. Instead of a "cable" feed going into my splitter in the attic, my antenna feed does. It then goes to all the coax drops in the house. Easy.

Thanks all... will hook it up Monday when cable company comes out to turn it off once and for all.

You will need a separate line if you utilize a cable modem for internet, but other than that the antenna feed can just be tied into your existing coax distribution system.

This is by no means necessary but I have one just to help boost the signal to farther ends of the house and strengthen the feed over all. Just need a plug in the attic somewhere you can access.

You can purchase a MoCA 2.0 extender and connect your router to your whole cable system. Add end boxes at each cable outlet and you'll have Ethernet at each outlet for your devices.
You can layer OTA digital television right on top of it by using a signal combiner.
My home was not wired for Ethernet. I used this and now, instead of wireless speeds and wireless dead spots, I get about 240 Gbps. They are rated for up to 1 GHz.

You'll need another line if you are keeping cable internet

My mid 90's home has phone and coax to all rooms but only 2 Ethernet port which have wireless routers attached already.

would these let you add room extenders to a TiVo bolt?

This is the best option IMO, but is a bit more expensive.

When I cut the cord two years ago, I began at my exterior box where the cable came into the house. I had my wife stationed in the house with every tv on and the computer on to determine which line was which. Once we determined which line was the internet line and which line was the line coming from the road to the house, I ran coax from my attic and plugged it into the splitter where the line from the road was. This fed all of my tv's once I placed the antenna in the attic. I didn't need any other device.

If you want the Bolt in another room, you will need a Tivo Mini with a MOCA filter connected to your main splitter.

That's what I'm fixing to do in a few weeks. I want to record the news every night, and I've been missing that! We can watch OTA TV through the coax, but recorded stuff will be on the Tablo.
Did you get the 2 tuner or 4 tuner Tablo?
