I'm sure it's the best BB ever and all that, but I don't get this part:
>>I like the ability to just press a number and the phone immediately calls someone.
I have a Samsung Galaxy. I like being able to just say "OK Google, call John Smith" and it calls John Smith. Or say "Take me to Chick-fil-a" and I immediately get turn-by-turn navigation to the tasty chicken outlet of my choice.

You have the voice command option with the BB as well. Keyboard shortcuts are just convenient and immediate. I'll use browsing TD and the recent changes to the mobile site as an example. I've seen requests for refresh links, bottom links, top links. I don't need any of those links and can immediately do what I want without touching the screen or scrolling. T takes me to the top, B takes me to the bottom, L refreshes the page, P brings me to the previous page, K brings up my bookmarks, H brings up my history etc. All done immediately without touching the screen, scrolling, or searching for a link. It's a convenience thing that once you get used to is hard to live without.

I started a thread about your issues on the crackberry site. See the PP board. You'll see the thread. I'm thinking you might have an antennae issue and just take it back for an exchange. It happens.

Get a leak then. The autoloaders are out

Go check the thread on that board. Someone posted a good solution. You're welcome. ;-)

Yeah, his solution is one of the threads I linked earlier. Thanks though. I'll try and do the update this weekend.

Shouldn't be that hard. Just backup first. It's a destructive wipe.

How did the autoloader work?
Posted on 5/10/15 at 10:02 am to prplhze2000
I didn't use an autoloader, didn't feel like doing a destructive wipe. Used the blitz method. GPS seems to be working when I tested it around town yesterday. Haven't done much with the bluetooth. We'll see once the work week begins. I still think it's such bullshite that we are on an old OS just because we are AT&T customers.

Sachesi method isn't bad either. I've been lucky so far, knock on wood.

Got the classic a little while ago. Really like it. Some good advice in here. The Google maps on Snap doesn't work for me. But most everything else I've side loaded does minus one or two. Got Uber working and side loaded the Uber app to become a driver. Curious how that is going to work though

Nice! What drove you to the Classic? What's going on with Google maps? Does the app crash or not open? I had it working on my Q10 which has the same internals as the Classic.

Contract ran up and just wanted a "business first" type of phone that lasts all day and does the core smart phone functions very well. Not saying I'm Mr. Big Shot Business man by any means . It took some getting used to the first week or so but now I can't imagine switching back (iPhone). Just re downloaded it and it works now, weird. I bet I did something wrong because I tried downloading it in the first day or so of having the phone. Only negative I am still trying to work out is group texts. Some group texts I have been added to are not going through on my end. Friends say that I am in the group chats but I am not receiving the messages. Thanks for the "T" and "B" shortcuts when using the browser, definitely helps. Any other newbie advice is welcomed. Everyday I seem to be learning something new. Also, is there any point of me using and figuring out BBM when hardly any of my friends have BlackBerrys? TIA

Here is a definitive list for all of the shortcuts. LINK
As far as BBM I only use it for a couple contacts. It's great if you are on a plan with limited text messages since a BBM doesn't count as a text. The BBM app is available for every platform for free so whoever you want to message would need to download the app first.
The group text issue is probably an iMessage issue.
ETA...
Another feature that I use a lot that a new user may now know is typing out commands. Say I want to send a text to someone that I haven't texted in while. Usually your options are to dig through your text messages to find the last message or go searching through your contacts. With BB10 you can simply type the command from the home screen. "Text John Doe" and it will pull up the text conversation without you having to search for it. This can be done for phone call, emails, etc. Of course you can also use voice commands to accomplish this same thing but I find typing it is quicker.

That helps a lot. Thanks. I called BlackBerry and they said to call Verizon regarding group text issue. Talked to Verizon and they said it was a quick fix. About to test it out and see. I was also really impressed with BlackBerry's customer service and wait time

Sadly, this thread reminds of the mid 90s Mac users extolling the merits of System 7.

Except the fact that we are discussing a new OS that you probably don't have any experience with.

Get BaMaps pro. It runs on Google maps. Native app. I've always used it and it runs well.
