Nowhere close to the big 2 but the sales are growing. Android Police reported:

Pixels now hold 10% of market in Japan and are second only to the big fruit.

Nikkei Asia reported that Google shipped around 10 million Pixel phones in 2023, with goals to hit the same milestone this year, further establishing itself as a key player in the smartphone game. While the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro likely contributed most to the shipments, the specific breakdown remains undisclosed, in line with Google's usual practice of keeping these numbers private. Last year, Nikkei Asia reported that Google put in an order for eight million Pixel 7 and 7 Pro devices.
Google also seems to have given the green light for Pixel smartphone production to kick off in India next quarter, as per Nikkei. This information lines up with Google's announcement in October 2023 about making Pixel phones in India, beginning with the flagship Pixel 8 series in the second quarter of 2024. It's all part of Google's strategy to diversify production beyond China and Vietnam, a move aimed at beefing up "supply chain resilience."

If big fruit phone sales keep slipping they may have to sublet some of the sectors on the apple spaceship building.

I've been using them since the Nexus 3. I just prefer the stock Android experience.

I've enjoyed the Google phone

Apple has done great with mind fricking me. Whenever someone new sends me a text and it’s green, I feel like they are trashy and beneath me. Well done Apple.

why can't they make a Pixel that's about 5.5 inches (PAUSE)? I don't need a tablet. i use a Pixel 3a (5.6"), but my first smartphone ever was ideal - LG G2 (5.2"). it was easily holdable and manageable
also, really wish they didn't get rid of headphone jacks. i'd love to stay on the Pixel line, but really hate the fact that there's no jack

Samsung hardware is very good but I don't like the software they lay on top of Android.
I'll take a stock Android device any day over that.

AI is going to spur an upgrade cycle for everyone, especially when they start running them locally, which Apple is rumored to have planned for at least the Pro version of the iPhone 16. We still have to see how good the new Siri is, but even if it's in the current ChatGPT ball park, that's a huge step up from existing Siri.
I've been needing to upgrade my phone for a while, I almost pulled the trigger on a new older model during Black Friday, because I usually don't need the latest and greatest. However, now I'm waiting until the fall at least and may get a 16 pro, which I could never have envisioned getting before. Running AI locally on phone hardware is going to be a big deal.

Nexus 4 is still my favorite phone of all time.
Pixels have been hit or miss

Never got a Pixel, loved the Nexus line and had them all.
Now that I've went Fold for several years there is no going back to candy bars.

Going on my second year with Apple after being on Android for so long, a few things absolutely annoy me about IPhone the most annoying is talk to text it’s horrendous compared to my old Android phones. The native pic editing apps are garbage I hate the editing system in place, Samsung is the clear winner there so many options. The watch would be perfect if I could turn off auto-brightness that is another huge annoyance, what’s the point of a bright arse screen if I can’t see it in a dark room. Trying to edit text on the keyboard is horrendous like I wan put the damn marker where I want if I misspell a word. I think the only thing keeping me on Apple is the credit card honestly, it’s so easy to use and the Daily Cash back is a huge plus I’ve gotten a bunch of money back since I started using it. I see myself heading back to Android soon as RCS is adapted
