If you click cancel now it says “if you sta. $10 off the next 3 months”. I tried it with my grandfathered plan and it gives me an error. That said, it appears to work for others.

The biggest difference for me is not the cost of programming, but the rental of the cable/satellite boxes. I currently have 7 TVs in my house, but we never really use more than 2 or 3 at a time. So streaming works for me as long as I have a firestick or roku on each tv. With Directv or Cox, I'd spend an extra $50-60 bucks a month on rentals. If I were single and only needed 1 or 2 TVs, I'd easily have directv like I did 3 years ago.

DISH lets you use Amazon fire devices as recievers. However you can only use one fire device at a time.If you are only using 2-3 TVs at a time it is great. We just fire sticks for the extra TVs in the house

was tired of flipping through channels on DTVN and came across this. Pretty cool guide and if you click on a show it gives detail and video preview if there is one

Just completed an online chat with DTV Now rep. I signed up on DTV when it first came online and have been paying the $40 a month for the "Go Big" package. Told the rep that I wanted to cancel my service and she said that she could keep me on the same plan with the same channels at my current $40 a month. I asked her how long that deal would be good for and she said it would stay the same unless I decided to change the package.

We shall see.

Comparing the channel lineups, I'd be saving about $20 to drop down to YTV, but I'd be losing a ton of channels. Even with the $10 increase not sure it's enough for me to switch. Now if they force me off this plan at some point I'll definitely look around because even the new $70 plan with DTVnow is a huge drop off in channels, even including HBO.

I plan on dropping DTVNow and just using TVTAP on my FireTV. It's totally free and works pretty well. Just need to figure out a fair deal to get the SEC Network, that's the only TV I pretty much watch. On a side note, the android app USTVhub, which is ran by TVTAP has an SEC Network stream but it only works on phones.

Ustvhub will work on an android box but is a little work to navigate because the interface is made to work on touch screens

Here are some real numbers for you. Was paying $129 a month for DTV on three TVs with DVR and whole home service last year in August. No premium channels. Called to complain. Dropped me to $79 a month for one year. 6 months in they kick it back up to $87 a month. I call to complain. Said they had nothing for me. I cancelled and got Hulu Live for $59 a month on any amount of TVS I care to watch. Now DTV has been hounding me to come back. Three phone calls and two letters in a month.

If you got in on the initial offering when DirectvNow launched then you are still receiving a great value...I think. I pay $40 for the Go Big. That includes HBO. My payment will go up to $50 with the new increase.

Also still using free Apple TV.

I could get Hulu for $45...I think, but would have to pay an additional $15 for HBO.

As of now, I'm still good. But I know more price hikes are coming. I'll wait it out.

DirectvNow has yet to resolve its content contract with the ESPN3 platform. If they do not resolve this by football season, I'm out.
