Anyone have any cool tricks? Garage doors opening when you get .5 mile from the house? Door locks? A/C settings? Apparently there are all kinds of things that you can set up.

geofencing sucks. i dont have very reliable service in my area so as soon as my cell service drops for 2 seconds the geofencing triggers all go off again.

if they ever get it to the point there are zero false positives i'll look into it again.

I don't use geofencing per se, but my HA system monitors when our phones are on WiFi. If they disconnect from WiFi our garage door will close if open and the alarm system gets armed.

Works great if you set it up properly and don't have an Obama phone like CAD.

Build smarter rules with multiple fences.

Sounds to me like your cell service is what sucks.

My neighborhood backs up to the interstate service road so I'm too scared to put the locks and garage on the geofence. But I do have lights.

I have geofencing setup through my security system. I have abode which has a built in hub and automation engine, so my lights are tied into the geofencing as well.

I do not have my locks or garage door tied to the "I'm back" geofencing. But everything locks or closes when I leave the fence in case I forget to lock a door or close the garage.
