Has anyone had the opportunity try these out? The ability to custom build a laptop is pretty enticing.

I thought about it but while I was thinking about it (2yrs ago) a really nice Dell system board went for $50 on eBay and a really nice locked or needed new board 2 year old latitude was $50 locally so that was my ‘build’. (1235u, 32GB).
I don’t know what the best play is in today’s crazy arse market but the aftermarket and second hand market for latitudes/pros is solid enough that framework isn’t necessarily a game changer at least if you’re sticking to common Intel setups.

No but I want to. I have one of the OG Framework 13s. The beauty of Framework is that I can just upgrade the 13 with the latest mobo/cpu, screen, battery etc.
Until I need the ability to game on a laptop, I can't really justify the 16 with the gpu module.

I would like the ability to do so, but gaming isn't critical (though happy they have options to go there if I want). I'm really wanting something that can run a VM with Kali (or BlackArch if I'm feeling more confident about my skills).
