Dropping Cat6E to six rooms…need help in Metairie

I’ll admit I don’t want to be in the attic right now. It’s cooking.
And Best Buy now CHARGES labor even if you’re a Total Rewards member. I’m pretty sure all installs were free of charge if you bought their equipment (tvs and such)
Anyone know of anyone who does this service? My electrician only does fixtures.
TIA

Call a telco that runs phone wire. Fish tape can go frick itself.

I’d wait til night time and just do a couple of drops. Then when it cools off more, finish the job. If you get all your ducks in a row, you can do the job pretty quickly.

So you are going to pay someone else to come install the lines but don't want to pay the Best Buy technicians?

Don’t know who to call but I don’t think Cat6e is a standard.
Go with 600mhz cat6 for now.
You can go with Cat6a, cat7, cat8, etc but those will require special grounding connectors and ports on your equipment before you see any benefit.

Cat6e is just a made up standard. OP might be confused and meant cat6a?
But the cable pricing between 6 and 6a is so minimal that I would just run 6a

You think it's not going to be such a problem to pull cable but it always is.
I still can't bring myself to pay for something like that. Too satisfying when I finally reach the hole in the wall I made and add the little wall plate and watch the LEDs light up on the switch when I plug in a cable
Still magic to me

The attic part is never an issue for me. It’s getting a camera into the hole then bending an old hanger and fishing just right to pull down the inevitable wad or hang up.

What I did years ago was decided which wall cavity I was going into. Drill a hole in the top plate with a spade bit, bought some jack chain then drop down the cavity. The chain won't bind up on anything, and if it does keep bouncing it up and down til you see it through the whole where you are mounting the box.

Can't believe they would charge for a service provided!
Used to be included in your total plan. They don’t like it either because it costs them sales

Had a local electrician do mine, i don't remember ever a time where bestbuy would crawl through attics and do a cable drop.
It was pricey, 100% worth it, frick wifi.

I know pretty much every low voltage guy in Metairie. The trick is finding one who isn’t so busy they will make time for 6 drops.

I’m asking for another estimate to drop 1-2 lines instead of 6.
I’ll just use the Eero or TPLink mesh system. Best Buy guy is big on Eero for some reason. Anyone have experience?

TP link better for the buck. Eero software may be better for content control but antennas are typically very bad for the $. Have to go to the 6 Pro Eero just do get dual 160hz 5g antennas like the cheap x55. I don’t think Eero even makes a high-end product that has several radios but I don’t know. Both are worry free.
If you want performance without having to use wires, the deco x90 has triple the 5g bandwidth(6x 160). Throughput should come close to a wired x55(or Eero 6 PRO) mesh without having to run the wires.
Oops wrong thread but you get the idea. Low radio count mesh are better than high end mesh once wired. Need lots of radios to maintain throughout without wires.

No. They are 6 foot flexible rods that can screw together for fishing cable down walls, across attics, etc.
