Does anyone have the new sprint/ Tmobile network? For those of you who do, how is the 5g? How is the coverage? I've heard they combined the two networks and has made things better?

I thought the two networks used different technologies - curious how they managed to merge them.

3G and 4G are different techs but neither had really deployed 5G at the point of merger. All the original Sprint 5G sites are being converted to T-Mobile 5G tech. About a 1/3 of sprint 5G phones are (were?) being dropped from T-Mobiles 5G access.

How are the speeds? Do they compare to Verizon or AT&T?

I am just thinking..When you buy an iPhone straight from Apple before the merger, it'd work fine on either TMobile or Sprint. This means the iPhone must have had all frequencies for both companies already. So, I'm guessing Tmobile works best with phone that have that type of technology and was compatible with both pre-merger?

I have T mobile and coverage in my area had gotten noticeably worse in recent months. That’s all I have to add.

TMO is by far the best for 5G right now. Other networks not close, Verizon being the worst.
Sprint merger really helped speed things along for them yes.

Wife works for Tmobile they are still separate, will take 3 years to complete full transition. Sprint name will be gone.

There is a reason TMO stock is booming this year, the strides they have made are very impressive.
Blew by AT&T for #2 and they will take over as the #1 network provider from Verizon very soon, network is just way ahead for years to come.

I have TMO and I’m happy. In the greater NOLA area and I have 5G everywhere. The speeds are good, never get dropped calls, and the customer service is awesome.

How fast are the download and upload speeds on the 5g? Is it the stand alone 5g or is it paired with a lte band?

I have had T-Mobile for a couple of years. I have great coverage and fast speeds for very cheap. I love it

Have you noticed a change from last year to the past couple of months? How was it vs how it is now?

T-mobile/Sprint usually only work good if you live near a large city. It's absolutely terrible everywhere else.

Get rid of it, it’s trash go Verizon

I have an iPhone 8 (so obv no 5G).
After Zeta, like a week after, I was having trouble with my phone using data on cellular (as in, just about everyone else with sprint/TMO was back to normal, but my phone wasn't). I was with sprint pre-merger.
I called tech support and explained the issue, they ran some tests, and ended up "dual-provisioning" my phone so it could work on either a Sprint tower or a TMO tower.
I don't understand the specs, but instantly my phone started working not only fine again, but even better than before the storm. No more dropped calls, data was faster, etc.

Verizon is literally dead last for 5G by miles and miles. Their network is years behind. Do not go Verizon.

I dont have a 5G phone so cant comment on that.
When they merged the only dead spot on my drive home went away.
