I know the cord cutting thing is big these days but I can’t bring my self to do it. Can anyone tell me which one has better prices and costumer service?

Don't know about prices or customer service. But I would say Dish has better equipment. I have Dish and my brother got talked into Direct by AT&T and he now wishes he had gone with Dish because he's constantly have his boxes swapped out. I had my equipment upgraded over two years ago and have never had anything replaced.

When I had DirecTV I had to swap out 3 genies in two years due to hard drive failures. I switched to Dish for two reasons. Locked in pricing for two years and better equipment. So far I’ve been on Dish for a year without any issues. The Hopper 3 is light years better than the genie. Also paying less than I was with directv.

I had Dish. No complaints. Hopper was great. Loved how it automatically skipped commercials on DVR playback. Could watch all of my channels on my phone, etc.

I switched to DirecTV for a bundled deal with ATT. Not bad, but what pisses me off most is most of the channels I'd actually want to watch on my phone aren't available. Come May my 2 year contract will be up and I'll likely look at switching either back to Dish or to Charter.

My parents and in-laws both have Direct TV.
They visited my house for an extended periods of time over the last two months, and both are talking about switching to Dish.

This is the reason i left satellite TV.
I live in jax and this was just for the taxes. Now throw in 2 or 3 receivers at 7.00 each. It was Dam close 30 bucks before i even ordered the programming.
You could almost order a streaming service for what i was paying before i was even getting satellite TV programming

If your not cord cutting then i think Dish network works out better long term. I just got tired of the extra fees with satellite tv.

I've had directv for a month now. The price was unbeatable as they are now including all hd DVR receiver fees. I pay 85 for internet with uverse and directvs entertainment package. I priced out plans with streaming, Comcast, and dish and they didn't come close.

The boxes suck with direct. It is very slow changing channels. I have gotten used to using the guide to channels surf.

The only other issue has been customer service, it's awful. I won't go into all the details, as it's a very long story, but I have had 2 installers come on two separate days, had to make 5 phone calls after the fact to get my bill corrected, and I still can not watch channels on the directv app or sign into channel providers apps. I'm going to call again tomorrow to try to get that straightened out.

I've always had great customer service with Dish. The majority of my customer service calls/chats are related to activating or deactivating the receiver that I use for tailgating.
