Going to cancel Direct TV and just wondering how it is so far.
Hopefully, my invite comes soon.

I'm still waiting.
I still have a few months on my DirecTV contract so I'm not in a huge rush. Anybody know how to get out of a DTV contract while avoiding ETF's?

I got mine. Have to call in with a code and sign up for $20 a month. There is a 7 day trial. They offer two addons for $5 each one is more kid channels and the other is more news channels. It is app based. I had to install a program on my PC. It lagged and buffered a lot the night I tried it but I wrote it off due to surge of new people. If that is fixed I'm in for the long haul.

I'm hoping (perhaps in vain) that one day there's a customizable package, where you pay like $20-30 per month and just pick out 15-20 channels that you want. I'd buy the f*ck out of that

With TBS and TNT as part of the line up, I am going to have to try it out during March Madness so I can watch the games.

Tell them that you're moving to somewhere they don't have coverage.

Combined with hulu, prime, and antenna its enough tv for me. Tired of paying $100+ for 300 channels we don't watch.
Those three would be $36 per month.

Just a heads up, got my invite this morning and set everything up.
Just using it on my laptop right now, Ill probably go pick up a roku for streaming.
Seems legit so far and the interface isnt bad. I added the extra sports channels for $5. Combine this with an antenna and hulu/amazon prime and I think Ive got everything I want for $41/month roughly. My current directtv bill hovers around $120/month.

What channels are in the package ?
And does SlingTV have AMC ?
Will probably give this a shot once they add an app for the XBone

The sports package adds SEC Network, ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Bases Loaded, Univision Deportes, Universal Sports and beIN Sports.
Pretty cool, I was going to be upset that I couldnt watch soccer on saturday mornings, but with beIN I get to watch my favorite players in Spain rather than the BPL.
SlingTV does not have AMC, thats why Im getting a subscription to Hulu since they play the new episodes the next day.
Its pretty smooth so far and I have very crappy dsl. Its not the best quality, but thats fine with me.

At launch, subscribers can watch live TV by downloading the app to supported versions of iOS and Android, or by visiting the upcoming Sling website from Macs and PCs. Alternatively, the Sling TV app is expected to be available on Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Google’s Nexus Player, select LG Smart TVs, Roku players, Roku TV models, select Samsung Smart TVs and Xbox One, with other streaming devices and smart TVs to follow in the coming months. Sling TV’s user interface provides a consistent experience across all platforms.

Just signed up. Cancelling my $250+ a month Fios TV and getting the 50/50 Internet only plan that includes HBO and Showtime for $59 a month.
Now if only Aereo had survived.
Also, if you don't have an invitation, here is the "invitation' link you use to subscribe.

Yes, all channels are HD. The picture looks fantastic as well on both iOS and on my Mac. I'm going to pick up a Roku later on so I can watch this on the big screen without typing up my Mac/iPhone.
The biggest limitation is that only a single person can be streaming at once (so if you decide to watch ESPN on your iPhone at work and your wife is at home watching ABC Family, she'll get cut off), and some channels (including ESPN) don't let you use the DVR functionality.
However their FAQ says that in the future, SlingTV will give you a WatchESPN account, so presumably you'd be able to use the WatchESPN app and also watch a different channel on this at the same time.
I don't know if this offers surround sound on Roku. I hope it does, as I enjoy watching live sports in 5.1, but if not this will still be a worthwhile investment.
