Damn you know Prime Day has fallen when it's 10am and no thread has been made yet

I've found some good deals on monitors and 4K movies, so far. Just ordered some rechargeable AA and AAA batteries (been waiting to do this. Gotta stock up on Amazon products on these special days)

I've ordered a bunch of stuff recently for our next project, a DYI model rocket launch controller. Most of the stuff will be here today. Hopefully I can cobble something together by the end of the day.
The current design will be powered by 8 AA batteries. But I've rethought the design and I'm adding a relay and a 12v external power port. The two power sources will both be connected to the relay, one in the normally open position and one in the normally closed. The relay will be trigger when the external power is plugged in. Using a standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug, the external power could be battery or AC via a AC/DC adapter (of which I have a ton....) So all I've ordered are the external 5.5mm x 2.1mm ports.

Amazon is getting real stingy with the digital rewards for delayed shipping this year. If I use my Prime Visa or gift cards, it only gives me 7% back (I get 5% back regardless) instead of $1-4 in digital credit.

What do you spend your digital rewards on? I'll probably use them on tax software. I can't think of anything else to use them on.

I really want a large backup battery like an EcoFlow 2 or Jackery or whatnot. But honestly, until they can get enough wattage to run a house (including AC and blower), I'm not all that interested yet.
Those things are insanely expensive and even on prime day, they're taking like 200$ off a 4000$ machine. Hey thanks.

Here's the launch controller that I built for the kid. I still have to add a few features, but this is the general design. My favorite feature is the continuity LED that in the case of a misfire tells you if the ignitor has been burnt or not. (I stuck a jumper wire in there to light it up for the demo.) The key allows the person hooking up the rocket to lock the system shut to make sure there's not an accidental launch when someone's in the blast radius.

48 Amazon AAs are $15 vs $13 for 8 rechargeable.
I'm trying to think of what burns batteries fast enough to make up that cost difference (leaving out moral feelings about waste). Even my kid's toys but I'll have to think about it. His RC cars are already USB rechargeable and the remote lasts a long time on batteries.
My contribution to Prime Day. I bought a robot mop.

I got em in today. I have a TON of AA and AAA batteries. Remotes, game controllers, etc. I may have bitten off more than I can chew

Anything is only a good deal if you actually need it.

I don’t need a countertop snow cone maker.
We are looking to replace a laptop and we found our best deal today at Costco.

Why?
There are regular rolling deals at Lenovo, etc., every month. Prime day is not special, nor is Costco for electronics.

This guy got an EcoFlow River2 Pro battery backup for 150$ off. Let's go, excited for it to get here - just in time for a hurricane to form in the gulf in August.
